~~30,000 Miles...~~

I'm going next week to the dealership to get some things get done and looked at the car (side driver side door panel creaking noise which I made a post about). Also while I'm there I'm planning to do any type of maintance that is required/suggested at 30,000 miles. Anyone of you guys know what needs to be done at this time? I think I read somewhere in here something about a transmission fluid change during this time frame. Can anyone confirm this? I'm also going to change the oil and the air filter (first time ever, had the car for almost 3 years ).

I have asked this before, and never had it answered. Please be patient with me.......

What in the world is the purpose in doing anything outside of regular maintence at 30,000 miles? Sure, look things over and change filters along with your LOF, but why pay for the '30,000 mile package'?

Good luck getting your door fixed! I hope they can locate and make it right for you!

Unfortunately I'm not kidding. I mean I've done oil changes like you're supposed to but never have I changed the air filter up until now.

Take my advice and just go to your mechanic (if you have one) to do the maintenance. I just had my 15,000 miles maintenance done at the stealership and they charged me 80% for labor and 20% of my money went to parts. You're definitely better off going to a mechanic. Just my opinion.

Will do but no one has yet to answer the reason for this thread. What type of maintanence do you need to do once you reach 30k miles?

I'm a little confused by this myself. I'll hit 30K soon and I opened the service book to make a list o' stuff to buy. Then I noticed the 3 levels of service. The premium service is a dealership's dream, and ridiculous IMO. But the Schedule 1 maintenance makes no reference to a tranny oil change... ever. The book stops at 120K with no tranny oil change.

How can this be. Should I not ever change it??

If you just drain&refill the transmission, it takes ~3 quarts. It's $10/quart. You may need to buy a 10mm hex key if you don't already have one. I bought a whole set for $11. For me, I rate the difficulty as half of the regular oil/filter change. I changed mine @30K. The oil look pretty black. I put a few drops on a paper and it's very light pink. Fresh oil is very dark pink. There is a small magnet at the end of the plug and I didn't see much residue (my Accord's had a ton of debris stucked to it). IMO, I rather throw in $30/year doing the drain/refill to keep the transmission going forever. The job is easy. It's that damn K-matic is so expensive. But it feels good doing good thing for your Max. You may choose go for 60-90K then have the whole system flushed out (big $$$).
