Difference b/w Greddy and Ebay exhausts?

Just curious what the main differences are between a Greddy exhaust system, or similar ones sold through the deals on this site, and the ones on ebay, like this one:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Nissa...QQcmdZViewItem

Or actually, what's wrong with the ebay version, why would it be bad to buy? Just curious!

The only thing you can rely on are the pictures...

The pictures LOOK just like the Greddy exhaust HOWEVER... how do you know those are legit pics?

greg hazlett bought one set and thought was good value. It would be interesting to have a side by side compare.

I've heard that the ebay exhaust are typically a lower quality stainless steel (not sure how good Greddy's is though) and the mufflers have packing that isn't as durable (subject to burning out).

Heard this from a Magnaflow Rep, so take it FWIW.

I didnt say the seller was claiming to sell a greddy exhaust... they arent... but as far as specs that greddy lists on their site, the type/thickness of the metal, the diameter of the piping, etc, all seem to be the same....

so, what would be wrong with getting one of these ebay exhausts, where the seller offers a full money-back guarantee if it doesnt work right, vs buying the greddy exhaust and paying $200 more?

I bought the SS one from ebay, I paid $480 shipped and the price has now dropped to $450 shipped, I don't have a Greddy to do a side by side but after working on mustangs exhausts for the past 8 years and seeing different brands I can say that the ebay one is a good system. The exhaust I bought is under the 04-05 nissan maxima exhaust and the seller is 42450 I think.

A little louder but unless WOT it is minimal. Keep in mind I have a CAI and a CE pipe-no cat-so that makes a difference. I am not a fan of 'ricer' cans as I am used to V8 rumble so I was pleasantly suprised at how the V6 exhaust sounded.

this guy is offering a very good deal especialy the part about a full money back Guarantee so how could you go wrong with this price...but like most new product thats out there being sold you have to wonder about quality and the reliability of the seller "will he be in business tomorrow to recieve his product back if something happen to go wrong down the line" just a few things to ponder

It looks like he has been around for a while, he sells a lot of different exhaust components and has good feedback. Time will tell if the exhaust is a quality piece.

greg, if you record a short video clip, you can email it to me if its smaller than like 10mb (which it should be) and I can host it on my website and post the link on this thread....

i guess you can just do a short clip at cruising speed to capture in-cabin sounds.

Or put the camera behind the car and rev to about 4k RPM.

As soon as I can hear what it sounds like I will make a decision. That is a great price for an ss exhaust system.
