i am considering dropping the front end of my 04, but thinking about my driveway as it is a little steep, i was wondering if anybody in minnesota has dropped theirs and would be willing to help me with the problem.

Take your time too, especially when you're somewhere new.

 

i have to do that already as it is, which makes me a little nervous to do it. if i try and go straight up i bottom out and when i come down i have to take it at an angle. i just need to know if anybody in minnesota has a lowered max and would be willing to help me out and get together to see if i can even get up the driveway with it lowered.

 

Yes you can....with the right angle you can conquer pretty much any driveway. My car is lowered on coilovers with the redlinemax front bumper. It is all scraped up from when I first got it (and it is waaaay lower than you will be with springs and a stock bumper) but I have learned the right angles and now it barely ever scrapes...just have patience young grasshopper!!!

when you lowered the front end of the car did you have to reallign the front end?

i have also heard of issues by just lowering the front end, can anyone back this up with anything

All jokes aside, you want to do alignment after a week or two of driving. The springs have to settle down. The alignment will prevent your tires from withering away.

lol so just lowering the front will not b the best for handling? but will it improve it slightly compared to stock?

 

i am now hearing some conflicting stories. i am hearing that if i drop the car that i need to do both front and rear and not just the front. can anybody offer any comments on this.

 

i have heard that as well. thinking about it, it would be best for the ride because you dont want to have two different types of suspension operating at the same time.

 

I did run stocks in the rear for a while and it was fine, probably not the best setup but I wasn't racing the car every day either...
