Progress Springs - any problems??

Any suggestions for reducing the noise on the Progress Lowering springs? I know a bunch of people have put a wrap of some kind on the 2nd spring from the top and bottom.

Any suggestions as to what I should wrap it with? I was thinking heat shrink tubing might be one option.

I didn't know that Progress had problems, I heard (no pun intended) Eibachs did. This is troubling as I want the Progress springs.

Hmmm I may have been thinking of the Eibachs then. All I know is I'd kick myself if I had problems next week when I could have avoided them with a little work now. They are going in on Thursday. Nothing says happy Easter like new suspension parts.

Either contribute something tangible, or don't post.

Alternately, since it's your dad's car anyways; ask him if he has any ideas about the topic and post them on his behalf.

ps. A couple days ago in this thread nyjohnny states he's getting Eibach Pro springs, and thanks Ramberg for his advice. http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=465710

K, DUDE forget the springs and get a life.

Q: Noise?
A: Yes in the morning when everything is cold the dust boot makes some rubbing noises against the strutt.

I used white lithium grease on it and the problem went away.

Thanks,

Kam

I've had the Progress springs w/RSB now for a few months (all through the cold and snowy winter) and have had 0 problems. No noise, no nothing.

Did you have any issue with snow collecting in the rear wheel well? Mine collects snow like crazy. I'm concerned with the reduced clearance of the Progress springs. I may even switch the rears back to stock for the winters.

Almost 10k miles w/ Progress springs, no problems yet. RSB had to be re-greased a while back.

I finally put in my progress springs this past saturday and on sunday night car got side swiped so the only thing that i can say about them is that the car looked great but it was floaty feeling in the front but it doesnt matter now that some idiot hit and run me so the passenger rear is all smashed in plus the rear tire is pushed in and tucked under, here goes another three months in the body shop

That sux about the hit and run. My neighbor backed into my drivers door, I didn't see her do it but she had the scratch on her bumper to prove she hit me, but she denied hitting me. It is a small crease @ 2 inches long below the door handle. Its not nearly as bad as yours put I feel your pain. Can't wait to get your Max back on the road to represent.

You mention your Max had a floaty feeling, was this before or after the spring change?

It was after the spring install on the highway at normal speeds it wasnt a caddy float it was more like a stock struts were on their way out float but the car only has 17k miles on her anyhow i'll wait to see what the insurance company says and maybe just maybe they will total her then i can start on a new project?

Dang did you car have damage from a hurricane earlier as well? That's too bad, hopefully you got their plates etc so they can pay!

No problems with snow. I dropped both front and rear, so in theory I should be getting more snow.
