Not the purpose of a flash. You would need to have the tuner code off particular sensors you want inactive.

Is the transmission operation affected (auto). I would like a slightly higher redline (or shift point) and the ability to control shifting up to that point with the manumatic. Right now the manumatic won't let me past 6300.

Mine will shift at 6500 now, you can always hold the shifter down so it won't shift and hit the rev limiter. The rev limiter will be raised to 7100 RPM.

Will a dealer know you did this mod and/or be able to reflash/erase the programming?

Only if they suspect something and plug the ECU in to check codes.

WIll my ECU need to be shipped for programming or am I buying a new ECU? I can't afford any downtime so even a core program would be great.

The ECU will have to be shipped. Each ECU is key dependent, your key has a chip that send signal to ECU to deliver fuel when you start your car.

And finally, I'd just like to see the final dyno numbers. $380 is a great price IMO and I'd probably be in.

Tek has gained 17HP and 10TQ at the wheel. I'm getting dyno next week.
The down time would be minimum of 3 business days with next day air service both ways. You can send it out the afternoon of day 1 and get it back morning of day 3 at the earliest.

I would send the one you have Cwepruk, I bought a new one and installed it, but the car didn't start with it. WHY? cause the new ecu needed to be programmed to your keys cause of the chip key.

you can buy a new one still at whatever price it is, but you will have to pay another 120 to get it programmed to your keys.

my dealer installed mines at first, until I found out how to do it myself...

I don't remember if you posted it but how much was the new ECU and were they able to program the keys with the ecu out of the car? Also do you still have the part number for the ECU.

I bought the ecu off a salvage maxima for 150, 120 to get it reprogrammed to the keys at the dealer.

they need the car and the ecu with all your keys there, it needs to be inside the car..

Thanks for the answers.

One question

How do you hold the shifer "down". You mean hold it back while accelerating and it will hold the gear a bit longer? If so, I never knew that. Even in manual mode, it will automatically shift at 6300.

I quess you put the OEM one back in and drove to the dealer. How long did it take to swap out the ECU? Can you please do a write up on it?

Thanks

Yes, pull it down like downshifting and hold it. Don;t forget to let go though!

So it won't just shift at 6500, it will bump the limiter if you hold it?

****, good info man (and thanks). I did not know this.

So if I were to get my ecu re-mapped and all, then I would have to take it to the stealership and have them reprogram the keys. Would they by chance erase the "modified ecu?" Or will they have a b****-fit of some sort that they can't do it since it's "aftermarket?"

this is only with another ecu aside from the oem one thats installed already. if you buy another one aside from the OEM one, you will need to program it for your car, if you send the one thats in the car now, you won't have to go to the dealer..

I had my second ecu programmed by the dealer and installed also, nothing changed at all, but you don't have to worry about that..

they haven't done that year maxima from what's on the site, but no one has probably tried to get it flashed before. I'm not sure about the unmoddable part of it, but I did hear that you guys don't gain as much as we do with it. I'll have to check that..

Tek: U have 16 more hp than stock ECU now? What parameters are you working on? What is your estimate of total hp gain? Any idea on the comparison of your program vs. my 350z program?

17hp more, I started with 212, I'm at 229 now. I gained 10 ft lbs of tq. the reason I'm not happy still is cause I have a dip in my low end side that I don't like, I'm still lean on the low end.

I have no clue on how to compare it to your car Deus, I know the 350 dyno they have there didn't gain as much as my car, why? I don't know.

I keep sending it back though, Tadashi keeps working with me and doing different things, I know if I had that program here I can do way more with it.

no you won't have to bring your car, I'm working on the small details like this still though, I wanna make sure the shop can handle all of this before I give go, I don't wanna delay anyones ecu cause we are jammed with work.

I'll call them tomorrow and figure this whole thing out.. I know that the shop wants the business and are willing to work with me in giving you guys an awsome deal for the power.

It's not important necessarily the mods that he has on his ride verse the work and research he has done for the whole 6th Gen forum...

WHat i mean is, I have a G35 ECU, I would rather send that out and have the Maxima Program Cloned onto it as opposed to using my stock ecu.

In that I mean, take all the G35 data, wipe it, upload modded maxima data and save it on the Infinity ECU as opposed to my original one.

By that I mean, take the Infinity ECU and clone the data from the STOCK MAXIMA ecu onto it, then mod the Infinity ECU with the Maxima data so that the maxima performs like a G35 but I still have my stock ecu.

What I mean to say is............. a fak it.
