Final install on manifold

I just had the polished manifold installed today. I also had it ported and polished. Since I had it open I had them change the plugs. What a bit*h to do this. Some pictures.

Outstanding work! Let us know if the porting and polishing helps performance or mileage.

Kinetix already has one for the FWD VQ35, problem is its a ripoff and you dont gain much power. $800 intake manifold with minimal gains FTL! Im curious as to how the port and polish worked out, looks good man.

theres a HUGE thread on altimas.net about it. The testing was done and most people here came to the conclusion that its better off just to do the Z33 IM swap. Il do this eventually but hopefully someone fabricates one thats straight bolt on so we dont have to modify it.

Check the all motor forums, there should be info on both these IMs. Im talking about the 350z IM=Z33.

EDIT: Heres the link to the kinetix one, theres a lil Z IM talk there too but theres much more info on the Z IM around the all motor forum.

i am betting around a ten hp gain. i looked in to this and getting my throttlebody port matched and the company i was going to send it to said the average gain from just the throttlebody match was around 5 hp. port and polished manifold i say ten. Ramburg you should get your throttle body ported and polished and matched to the manifold.

Good question, Ive always heard people say it cost more than it should for what you gain. But I dont think many people have done it so this could be interesting.

I havent heard of anyone portmatching the throttle body on a 6th gen yet. I wonder if larger throttlebodies are available, too.

Thanks again for the comments. Right now I am not doing anything more to the engine. I am not going thru taking this off again. I even changed the plugs so I wouldn't have do them for another 100,000 miles.

I really like the chrome, reminds me of the polished manifold I saw on a souped up HEMI 6.1 in the SRT-8 300. However, I really dislike any paintings on the engine cover...I mean it it was a lowrider I guess murals are ok. I think what would look best isleaving the cover off, redoing all the wires to look nice and chroming the alternator, heads, etc... This one mod is a step in the right direction, although I know how expensive it would be to do all that stuff but it would sure look better then a cheezy engine cover.

Thanks for the comment. Its polished not chromed. Its ugly under the cover. If it doesn't rain tomorrow I will cleaning the engine and like I said above no more money going into engine at this time. I also love my Punshier engine cover.

Under the cover

ramberg like i said excellent choice and you cant go wrong. the porting will be minimum but it helps especially since you had it off already and wont be paying a sh*t load to do it anyway. put that together with 3 other little things and you'll have an advantage over many.
