power seats dont move

today when i went to drive the car, i used the seat memory function like how i normally do when i get in the car and i noticed the seat didnt move foward. so then i tired just moving the button foward to move the seat foward and all i hear is a click sound. all the other functions of the power seats work. it goes up and down fine and the back support moves backward and foward. its just the seat dosnt slide foward or backward. any one else have this problem? i checked some of the fuses but it later hit me that if some parts of the seats can move why not this. but the fuse to the eletronic parts is fine. any one know any solution to fix this? do you guys think nissan would fix this. even tho it is out of warrenty? any help will be helpfull. thanks.

I assume you have a 6th gen since you posted here... though you have 1993 listed.
Either way if it's out of warranty it is exactly that.

If in fact you have an 04-06 there is a recall on the wiring. So check into that and maybe it will get fixed. Check the STICKY for more info.

My driver's seat in my 5th gen did the same thing. The dealer ended up replacing the seat motor.

what does it matter warranty or not? either way it gets fixed. one way you pay the other you don't.

my point was that the recall needs to be done regardless. if it doesn't fix it, you can atleast find out what's causing it then just refuse the work if you have to pay.

yes there is a TSB, but it is only free if your warranty is current.

TSB only tell the mech how to repair something. it is not a recall so not free.

Don't let that deter you. If the dealer won't do it now, tell them you want it under goodwill since it is a serious design defect. Failing that, call Nissan directly and plead your case with them.

I have an 04 and JUST TODAY my driver's seat and steering wheel both stopped moving in all directions. The passenger seat is fine tho. I'm thinking it's a fuse for me perhaps, but I think your issue might be the TSB that someone already posted.
