Favor to ask of a 6th Genner

Howdy!

Would someone with a stock 6th gen kindly measure the distance from the center of their wheel/hub to the top of the caliper? I've tried searching, but all that's floating around is information on spoke clearance.

I'm contemplating installing 6th gen calipers/rotors on my 5th, but would need to verify spacing and clearance first. I initially thought that 6th gens shared calipers with a Murano (where i gathered initial measurements from), but that's not the case - so i may still have a chance at this.

Thanks!
- Mike

Alright, at a glance mine is about 6 1/2 - 6 3/4.

I measured center of hub to top of caliper. You might let others weigh in and confirm it!

And call me nuts, I'd swear that the front is longer than the rear, but that can't be right! Would a Nissan dealership be able to tell you this info? I'll call mine right now and ask.

Not getting an answer, it's just ringing and ringing. I'll check in later and see how it went.

Wow, that was quick! Thanks!

6 1/2 - 6 1/4 sounds a bit short, in fact it's pretty close to the #'s i have for my 5th gen OEM set-up. However, it does look like the 05/06 calipers aren't as "thick" (not sure how to say it) so this may be right.

I did try a couple of Nissan parts departments, but oddly enough they don't have this information.

I'm a newbie so I can't start a separate thread, but this may be on topic. I just bought an 04 stock Max and have been curious obout why the rear of the car seems to look like it is "sagging". This thread reminded me of it. I've been told that it looks like I have a couple dead bodies in the back, but the trunk is nearly empty. You can barely see the top of the tire under the well. On the front however, it looks much higher. I called the dealership and he says that he has never noticed it before, but that looking at several on the lot that is seems to be normal. Any thoughts on this?

Looks lower than other 6th gens? I'd have the dealer check it out. You should have about 1 1/2 inch gap from top of tire to bottom of wheel well.

Yeah, I may have to have it looked at- The car only has around 40k on it so nothing should be worn out. There is about a 1/2" between them max...I have to take it in to have the turn signal fixed anyhoo...

Actually, that is normal. You'll see in several photos of this generation, (also known as the 6th gen) that a lot of folks have lowered their cars because of this 'wheel gap'. I assure you that, for the most part, this is ok. Unless yours is really sagging, it's normal.

My front end sits high also, and low in the rear. I thought mine also looked funny when I first got it. 'Bodies in the trunk' was a perfect description.

So we don't completely go OT, can someone else please confirm 4MySwee's measurements above?

Sorry to bump, but anyone else who can confirm? You don't even need to take off your wheels.

Thanks!

I guess that'll have to do

I'm just afraid to plunk down some cash for the parts and it won't fit. But i guess at this point there's only one way to find out.

Thanks, guys!
