Scrrreeching noise from engine bay - Fixed
Not sure if this has already been reported here or not. did not find this in "problem" sticky.. As it seems to be a common problem, thought would write about it. Sorry for the long post.
was having a screching noise from the engine bay at about 40MPH (2k RPM), sometimes was able to hear that at from the start, while turning. the noise lasts about 3-4 seconds. Noise Intensity was varied. it would not appear constantly.
Took it to the dealer 3 weeks before for an oil change and reported the problem. As usual, end of the day, they were not able to replicate. But they did check for the cracking bracket under the engine bay. the bracket was fine.
Then I had to talk to the SM and made him test drive. The momemt he started the car, he heard it. Gave another appt.
Took the car again and got it fixed. They replaced front and rear Exhaust Tube Gusset. the noise went away.
The SM was very helpful and patient. I bet replicating the noise was not that easy. He told me that this (screeching noise from engine bay) is a known problem and was mainly due to cracked brackets under the engine bay. This is the first time that he is replacing the broken Gusset.
Issue: Screeching noise from enginee bay at 40MPH
Solution1: Cracked bracket under the engine , near the exhaust (mine was fine)
Solution2: Broken Gusset, replace both front and rear Exhaust Gusset. Partnos: 20817-7Y010, 20817-7Y110
