Well, I was driving to grab some lunch for a buddy of mine earlier today. While on the freeway on-ramp, I heard a slight rattling sound each time I pressed the throttle. But the sound went away while I was at cruising speed. Got to the restaurant, and the noise came back when I was driving up the driveway. So, I popped the hood, and looked around. Found out the bolt that holds the last section of the Berk intake came loose (picture below). How the hell did it come loose? The only thing I can think of is that the rubber couplings are not allowing the engine to move whenever I'm under heavy thottle etc. The bolt was tight when I installed it a few weeks ago. Anyhow, I tightened the bolt, and the noise is now gone. Anyone else have this issue?

Yup, mine has always come loose. I just check it every other week or so to make sure. I told Bryan from Berk about this when I did the test install for the intake a long while back. I guess he never changed anything to fix the problem...

Does it need to be bolted down? He should have gotten the issue resolved after you told him IMO...

That sucks. Some members have had the same problem with the Injen. Chernmax came up with a fix.

I'm thinking of getting a rubber washer, and put it between the mount and the the car. it should absorb the vibrations and allow some movement...hopefully preventing the bolt from coming loose.

^ --- that's a good idea... anytime i slightly accelerate there's is a creaking noise. maybe the rubber washer idea would be the solution..

Gordon, you should pick up a locking nut from Lowe's, Home Depot, or any other hardware store. Should keep from coming loose once that's installed.
