**LOOK*** Turbo Kits.com 3.5L Turbo Kit!!!

Guys, i dont know if any of you have seen this as a possible option for our Max's being that the Altima shares alot of the same components as us, we should be able to get this for our cars with minor modification...the only think is the sticker shock 6k for the kit is a bit much but you never know...
hope someone grown some B*alls and steps up....(I cant) baby on the way.
So enjoy.

would love to see if this works on a max. i want a turbo kit. badly. i like running and i want to be able to give 350z's and g35's a run for their money anyways, i'd be willing to buy it next year if it's confirmed to work with a '06 maxima AUTO...is that even possible?

it would be nice if the ecu for the 6 gens can be tuned like 4 gen ecu for turbo & superchargers

$6000 seems reasonable. A local performance shop quoted me $14000-$16000 for a complete turbo project, for 06 maxima.

More power to whoever does it, Id like to see some qtr mile results. However, this is approximately $6,815 with tax, and a few thousand more for install being conservative....after all is said and done it might make more sense to get the new G35 because I cant see this turbo making the max do 0-60 in under 5.3 seconds. Just my .02

My take on perfomance mods after owning the max for over 3 yrs and throwing alot of money into it is that if you want a sports car - then buy a TRUE sports car.

I went the road of modding the max, but I gave up on trying to make her something she's not.

She's a good looking quick cruiser for a decent price - nothing more, nothing less.

Much respect to the guys that have gone that road but to me it gets to the point where I am left guessing why I didn't buy a true sports sedan in the first place. If someone dumps $6K into a turbo and probably another 3-5 grand in other mods your looking at increasing the original cost of most 6 gens to mid $40K range and maybe have 300+hp.

You could just buy a new 300 SRT-8 or Caddy CTS-V both which come STOCK with 400+hp and do sub 5 sec 0-60's for roughly what you would have dropped in mods (not inculding install costs) straight out of the box with more hp and better handling.

Anyway that's my .02 on the matter.

Good luck to whoever tries it though!

No it doesn't, not at all.

4000ish custom made should be the most you should pay.

I AGREE with you 150% ....its still a family sedan that can dance the tango, when it needs too...but its no sports car...

Just a heads up before you guys get in a situation where you don't wanna be. This turbo kit is made by Speed Force Racing, should be acquired directly through them. Make sure they have the have kit readily available or you will be waiting for a long time. I believe only one 3rd gen Altima has this turbo kit, I think his name is guerro. Another tried to follow his path mostly horror stories. He purchased the kit from SSR Engineering who sells altima 3.5 SFR turbo kits, the same as Turb-Kits.com, a year later he still haven't receive the full kit, to top it all off they crashed his car. The best route to take is probably custom, which two 3rd gen Altima owners have recently taken.

This has been around for a few years now.

$6200 with injectors, piggy back, scavenge pump, 46mm TiAl wastegate, and custom headers doesn't sound that bad.

I would rather do my own fuel and tuning setup than what they would give me, and that is not normally included in the $4000 custom kit and will easily add up to a $1000. I would also rather mount the turbo higher to allow for gravity oil drain and relocate the battery to the back instead of having a scavenge pump. A 46mm wastegate is a bit overkill too.

6th gens are too new and expensive (not to get into size and style) to see this kind of modding become realistic. Hell you don't see many boosted 5.5gens yet. People with that kind of budget and desire to mod are probably not going to get a A34 Maxima. But people can do whatever they want with their money. Car modification is rarely ever a financially smart thing to do. If someone wants to turbo their 6th gen let them do it. I wouldn't do it however.

That's exactly what they have done with the two boosted 3rd gen Alti's that I mentioned.

Point taken but:
1- I would never get a Chrysler
2- The roof line on the Caddy is so low my head would probably touch the ceiling. Plus the msrp is 51 grand!

I think even with a 6 grand turbo kit, there's nothing out there for around 40 grand that's more attractive.
