Car sound like shaking a spray can..
My six gen is starting to sound like a old piece of junk. I have been taking good car of it for as long as i had it.
But now when i accelerate it sounds like the bottom of my car is shaking a spray can bottle or something. It sounds like an old car from the 80's or 90's.
It only makes the sound when taking off from a dead stop and i push on the gas pettle hard.. Its really starting to bother me..
It started happening after i resently change the oil on it to Mobile one.. I dont think the sound is coming from the engine.. But i could be wrong. It kinda sounds like it coming from the bottom of the car.. I have heard this sounds on a lot of older cars.. But now its on a car with only 30k miles on it..
I need some help with this one..

Let the car cool down before you go looking for a heat sheild.

Yeah.. It not constant.. I can controll the sound.. If i push really hard it will not make a sound.. But if i push the gas just right it will make a loud jiggly sound.. If i dont push to hard i will not hear anything.. Kinda sounds like some one beating a tin trash can... Wow.. I havnt seen a tin trash can in like 15 years..

You should goto the autoparts store and get a $5 clamp. Tie up the front heatshield (near the oilpan, two thin plates sandwitching the pipe). Wrap the clamp in the middle and tie it up. Those plates clap and create the noise.

I have a similiar noise. From what I'm told, I damaged a bracket that holds or is near the heat shield. The dealer was going to charge me $50 to fix it...of course I skipped it since I can control the noise.

I hope it is a simple thing like the heat shield.. But i had the heat shield problem before and it had a different sound.. This one sounds more like the exhaust or engine or something.. Its like an old hunk of junk car..
I wish i could let you guys hear it.. YOu would now excaclty what i'm talking about..

How can tell if all heatshield noises are the same. My '97 heatshield sounded completely different from my '04's. On the '04, I thought the trans was making the noise. At first I could "control" it by revving either below or quickly pass the "RPM range" when the noise surfaced. I lived with it for a few weeks but then it went out of "control".

sounds like old clunkers with pebbles in a tin can, but it could also be the heat shield aswell, but doubt that sounds like yours is the bracket, i forgot exactly where the bracket was but i think it was behind the engine bay under the car where the first exhaust lines start up in the front middle of the car. The stealer should do this free and u should be all set. But do the search to get the exact spot im too lazy.
