http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=495112

Depends on condition of your struts and shocks. Some have blown their struts on stock springs. I've had Progress for about 12k miles now with 20k miles on the car. They are holding up until now and should be alright for a few more months, but I can feel quicker rebound now compare to my other car on the same road.

I was reading that Cattman Use Progress springs? is this true?

Hows your ride ? just curious do you have family memebers that ride in the car as well ? any complaints? and do you think this is a good deal for springs?

I might be wrong... but the springs say 2004-2006, and in your info it says Y2k .... so, if that's the year of your car........ then I'm thinking it won't work.

well i have the cattman progress springs. really are more responsive. however i'll tell you this much the springs don't really feel in the car cause i think all they really help with is ride height...if your worried about ride comfort those are the struts and shocks. i live in NY and i bottom out a few times on large speed bumps with the springs. otherwise i don't hit anything else. so you really won't feel comfort differences from lowwering your car but you will feel a bit more responsive on i believe tilt action.

buh as a warning from some of my friends at the local garages and dealership. it IS NOT recommended that you run stock struts and shocks on lowwered springs cause it makes your shocks and sturts work more hense wear's them out faster and even possibly blowwing the struts and shocks out. buh i hear there are a lot of people who do and haven't had any problems. however there have been some who have had very bad experiences with that senerio. so i really guess it depends on how you dirve and how far and hard you push it.

hope it helps a lil.

PS correct me if i'm wrong please.

Agree, I've been lowered for over 2 years and still have my stock front struts. But the roads in Southern MD are really smooth and well maintained, I know up in NYC I would have blown them a long time ago...

Progress makes springs, Cattman sells them.

The ride is great. On smooth roads, it's less jarring than stock springs because of the progressive rating. On crappy roads, you know you're lowered. It feels less floaty cruising on the hwy, but comfortable.

I have people ride in my car. They have no problem with the ride until we go over large bumps or scrape my exhaust pipe going over speed bumps or driveways.

I ran my Cattman Progress springs for over a year on OEM struts/shocks until I got a set of KONI/AGX shocks/struts.

Love the springs, will set your car apart.

ill probably get stabbed for this one:
my old car before the max was a 99 galant dropped on progress springs with 18 inch chromes wrapped in low profile tires and the ride sucked, me and my girl were accustomed to bracing before hitting a bump/pothole.

thats not the only problem, how about having the bumper get caught on a parking divider? it would make my heart drop everytime i would hear the bottom of the car scrape on the pavement, and dont even let me begin with the adventures i had while attempting to pick up people at the airport.

dont get me wrong the dropped look is sick, but i dont know if i want to kill my maxima like that.

Did you change the shocks/struts on your Galant?

Thanks Guys for your input , very appericated .. So you guys think that the above link is a good deal ? $125 ??

When I start with my A33 Maxima , I had alot of time to research , but with work and family , I have less time to really really dig deep and search the net all night for deals and info..

Since this is the biggest Community and with alot more reponse.

Thanks again

If there is a concern about stiffness, try getting adjustable KYBs in back and Konis in front. I set my KYBs to 1 when I go for long rides to LA and if I am around town, I set it stiffer, like 3. When I autocross the car, it goes to 5 and I pump up the tires.

Can you really compare a dropped Galant to a dropped Max? I don't think so...

its pretty staightforward, you drop the car (any car) which will bottom out occasionaly, difficulty going up ramps, tires going flat because of the camber, now add low profile tires to that and you have a pretty ****ty ride when compared to stock, no matter what car you drop.
