Need suggestions for adding a LCD to an 07 Maxima

I have searched and searched but couldn't find any in-dash kit (i.e. Metra) out in the market. I plan on gettting an 07, w/o Navi or Bose and adding my own LCD screen and running a carputer on it. Goosenect LCD mount (the kind that bolt to your seat) isn't quite ghetto and I am trying to stay away from that.....any suggestions?

Can you post a picture of your dash? I am interested to see how it looks.

Thanks in advance.

Did you check crutchfield or EBAY. Matra and Scosche both make one...

http://cgi.ebay.com/NISSAN-MAXIMA-20...QQcmdZViewItem

Also if you look around in here or on Car Domain you'll that most of us have replaced the stock HU and have the dash kit. If you are looking for double DIN you will have to custom make it from the other kit, but again plenty of guys have done that as well!!!
Good luck!!

yes, I have done my reserach on Metra kit and on ebay and crutchfield. I have seen the faceplate kit that you suggested in your post, they won't work on 07. 07 has a different dash design.....What I'm looking for is something to allow me to put a 1din LCD unit and a 1din HU (essentially using both the DINs, but I'm not installing a double DIN LCD / HU unit)

Oops my bad (must have been too early in the morning) I missed the very important "07" part of your post. I got my dash kit right when they came out and it was about a year after the 6th gen launched. I would maybe e-mail Metra and see if they have plans to make one, might give you a better idea or if anything give them push...

question -

those of you that have the metra adapter - - is there any difference between the factory piece and the aftermarket one? as far as finish, fitment, the functionality of that little cubby door...i'd just hate to sacrifice the quality of the dash...

The kit fits fine, the door works fine but the finish matches only the 04 perfectly. The 05's and up have more of a brushed aluminium look.

Guy's I have the same unit as the one pictured above and although it doesn't match my 06 interior exactly it comes pretty dam close and to be honest I kind of like the difference, gives the dash a nice look because it matches the ac vents nicely. I installed a carputer (minipc) a week after I picked up my Max (Febuary) and couldn't be happier. Everyone is amazed at how "Factory" it looks, I also picked up an aftermarket headunit with rear "aux in" and DVD playback so in my opinion I have the best of everhthing (mp3's, DVD, Nav, internet...)

I had some but can't freaking locate them. I'll post some up as soon as I can. I'm actually gonna sell the minipc, decided to go with a different system.

Whats the difference between the 06 and 07? Wouldn't the factory display have to be relocated like in the 06?

No, 07 has the info screen splitted up into two LCD panel while 06 has one big one, which, according to other's experiece, can be easily moved to the bottom of the dash and then you can put your own LCD panel there.

I haven't been living in a closet its just that I have a life outside of these forums

Anyway, one option is to purchase a Navigation bezel from the dealer and install the LCD there. You could then relocate the factory display to the bottom like on the 06. I'm sure all the everything will just plug in.

Just takes some creativity.
