YES
You are wired wether you have the bose or not. 05,06, and 07 are pre-wired, 04 is the year when they started mid-run.

Sirius SAT Install

you might have to eat the 300$. You will at least know it's a clean installation. Otherwise it's a gamble.

So i looked at the instalation guide and listend to everything. By the sounds of it you just basicaly plug it in and 9/10 of the work is the instalation of the Antena but that can be circumvented by placing the antena in the back dash am i correct? So i could buy it and plug it in and put the antena in the back and later down the line have the antena installed since i don't have a garage and i live in ohio kinda cold to do this kind of work.

I received a sirius s50 for christmas, and installed it into my car. i have the antenna hooked up to the unit and ran it to the roof of the car with relative ease. The problem that I am having is that I am getting a static feed quite a bit. I heard that there was a modulator that you plug into the back of the HU and it bypasses all the interference. Can anyone give me any help? Thanks!

you are describing one of these if you are looking to hook into the antennae wire from the vehicle to the HU! $30 at major electronics chains.

Sirius FM Direct Audio Relay
Model: FMDA25
Hear your Sirius radio loud and clear through your car radio. This FM audio relay uses a direct connection to eliminate quality loss that can occur with a wireless connection.

Just go to grubbsperformance.com and buy the oem sirius hook-up. It is neat and clean and you do not have to worry about all the wires and the fm stations and looking at that big mounting kit and making sure you have your car docking kit and running wires and when someone gets in your car and you always have to say" hey watch out for my wires because I did not want to go to grubbs and buy an oem unit that it is neat and clean and these wires are not even here".

Seems to be worth $250...just my .02

I bought my 07 Max last friday, I am traveling on business now, but when I get back Saturday, I am going to pick up my Sirius unit from my old 04 max (they are removing it for me). After reading this, I will just do the install myself instead of trying to setup an appt.

Man, I love the .org!!

I just bought a Sirius SAT Tuner for my '06 SE Bose w/DPP.

Two questions:

1. Does anyone have any pictures as to what the non-navi information displays with the Sirius radio? Does it show both channel name and song/artist? Does anyone have a pic they can attach with the Sirius information on a non-navi LCD?

2. I only got the tuner. I need an antenna. Is the antenna hookup on the Nissan Sirius tuner the stock antenna hookup that most other Sirius antenna's use? For example, do I need the Nissan Sirius antenna, or will almost any other Sirius antenna on the market hook into the tuner?

TIA

In a non navi car, when you go into sat mode, you will only see the band you are on and channel number. If you press the audio button, you will get the station name and song into.

IIRC, the antenna plugs on the nissan tuners are the same as others. I chose to prder mine when I ordered my tuner from grubbs, as i didnt want to go to the store

Just had mine put in at the dealer today, cost me $500 out the door. I absolutely LOVE IT. I've had XM in the past with an FM modulator, and a sirius that ran to an auxiliary input in the back of an alpine CVA-1005. I can say that the sound quality with the factory Nissan unit+Bose=some beautiful sound.

....oh and it's sirius btw

I've got a problem with my OEM SAT install on my '06 Max.

I decided to go the do it myself route. I got a tuner on eBay which works fine. When I plug it in, start the car, and push SAT, I get an "Acquiring..." message rather than the NO SAT message before. So I assume the tuner works properly.

However, rather than get the OEM Antenna Kit, I looked at the connection on the OEM Tuner and saw it looks like the regular ones on all the Sirius radios. So I got an antenna from Citcuit City... this one: http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/DEI-M...oductDetail.do

The connection goes into the OEM Tuner perfectly, however, nothing works. The display just sits there at Acquiring.

I guess my question is: What's so special about the OEM Antenna kit and how come I can't use a regular antenna?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

MPScan-- where are you doing this install? Also, it the antenna facing the right way?? It's a dumb question for me to ask. If you are in the garage, move the car out. The satellite can't penetrate into garages, also, my 05 antenna is the one that affixes to the inside of the car with velcro. I just had it laying there and it didn't work, when I flipped the unit over, it worked great.... Also, double check that the connections are solid and the clips have met all the way. Hope you get the prob fixed.

Thanks for the reply.

Yes, after installation, I even drove around for a mile or two in my area and to the highest point where there was a clear view to the sky. The antenna is mounted on the top of the car (magnetic). The connections are solid.

I'm gonna try again with another antenna.

I had a problem like that originally with the antenna. I also installed myself but placed the antenna inside on the back dash and was wondering if that was my problem with the "acquiring" message. You will read in the installation instructions to neatly loop the slack antenna cable into a 4" loop. After major troubleshooting I found that routing the slack cable the width of my trunk back and forth solved the problem. The only way to go is oem I had fm modulator and it does not compare so it is now in is300.
Now I can listen to Stern and Raw Dog all the time with only $163 out the door.(ebay)

I bought my receiver on Ebay and did the install myself. It was easy until I had to unplug the wire to the CD player to replace it with the wire hareness cable. Spent about $280 if I remember correctly to do it all myself. If you are pre-wired, it's even easier.

my x-m delphi

[QUOTE=(_(V)_)ystik]I wanted to move my existing XM account over to the max, but my unit doesn't have the SAT button...it isn't pre-wired for XM. Alas, I was forced to slap my skyfi unit into the max. It looked clean on my old car, as it fit directly in the cubby hole, but I'm not too satisfied with it propping on the dash of my max.

I couldn't even get my delphi to sit on my dash. i found a mounting kit off line. it is small and i was able to attach my delphi right beside my cd player. yeah i know it does look funny on the chrome. but it doens't look as stupid as it did on my dash board.

Looks like free radio or cd display. It will say SAT ch100 or push the audio button once and will display channel name, title, and artist. I do not have picture but it is pretty basic and similar to portables except on your car info screen.

Sirius Tuner Question

Sorry didn't know where else to post this since I can't create a new thread for some reason. I have a 04 maxima that is pre-wired for sat radio. I checked the trunk it has the plug. I want to know if i can use the 06-07 sirius tuner (999U9-AS006). Everything I have read says that I need the 04-05 tuner (999U9-NV004), but the late model tuner is $100 cheaper plus I already have a sirius antenna and you don't need the antenna splitter. I am almost sure I can but I would appreciate verification from someone that knows for sure. Thanks

Sat reciever from grubbs

I have an 2006 SE with no SAT button or aux button. Can I still install the reciever from Grubbs? Earlier in this thread they say you don't need the SAT button but grubbs say you do need the sat button.

I'm concerned becuase this is what it says on grubbs website:

Q: I own a Nissan/Infiniti vehicle can an OEM Satellite Radio be installed?
A: If your vehicle has a ‘SAT’ button it is possible to install an OEM satellite radio. Some early model (2003) vehicles will require the installation of a satellite pre-wire cable in addition to the satellite receiver. For your exact application please check our website at http://www.grubbsperformance.com or send us an e-mail to parts@grubbs.com

Thanks in advance for any and all help. I have an 04 Max w/bose system with "sat" button. Recently purchased the Sirius Sat kit. One local audio shop could not figure out the install. So my question is where is the harness wire located? I had the back under panel of the rear deck off, and did not see any loose plugs. Is it tucked somewhere, or is it connected to the head unit itself? Secondly, if it is not there, am I to assume that I have one of the early versions, that is not 'actually" sat ready? I am at wits end with this whole process. Again thanks for any help in this matter.. smart

its tucked up by the bose amp underneath the rear deck. its taped up in a blue tape that has a loose connecter. also on the driverside door jamb it should say that it is prewired for sat.

Thanks

I guess that I am one of the unfortunate ones with the earlier edition that was "not" actually pre-wired. Is the pre-wired head unit still available anywhere? This whole process is exhausting, not to mention disappointing. There definitely is no wires taped up around the head unit. Also, I saw nothing in the door jamb. Again thanks so much for responding.

Check the door jam. My 2004 SE was prewired and said it was on the door jam.

SAT Tuner Maxima 2004 Prewired

Hi Gents,

I just purchased the OEM Tuner 999U9-NV004 for my Maxima Bose Radio.

THe only concern is how difficult is to intall the electronic antenna, I just purchasd P/N 282307Y010 that goes on the 2006-2008 models but at Pinnacle Nissan in Arizona based on my Vin # it can used the one mentioned.

I need some help on how to trace the Antenna around the car? My car came with electronic Sunroof or Moonroof.

Any Help?

Thanks,

Augie,

New Jersey
