If you're getting headers, you're going to need...

a scan tool to erase all the codes you're going to begin tripping. I've had my headers for about a month or so. At least twice a week I have to hook up my scan tool to erase the codes. I'm not just talking one O2 sensor, I'm throwing up to six codes all related to 02 sensors and a/f metering sensor. I don't notice any significant(not sure) drop in performance related to the SES light but it is distracting.

ALSO, sometimes when I shift from park to reverse to forward I can hear the engine thump the header/y-pipe flange that pretty much touches the engine.

Overall,
Performance wise, sometimes my car feels very responsive and fast. Other times it feels a bit sluggish, just a bit. I haven't determined if it's related to the sensor issues, probably is though.

is your car tuned?

if not, you can't give this advise yet....

for one, if your not you will throw a A/F code cause you are too lean, and the 02's are probably reading wrong cause of it..

tune your car before it messes up that's my advise to you..

I believe jotech tuned his car with the safcII. Check the altima forums for the 05+ header thread and you'll know why we get the code. Not really new news, they have had this problem since the product came out.

I dont think he is, its weird. I think their might have been a few altima members that didnt and it baffled everyone because 90% of the people who have the headers have the CEL.

You are correct, Jotech did tune my AFC. And not all of the codes are related to "running lean". One code indicates I'm getting a slow response from one of the O2 sensors.

I wonder if the Altima guys checked with Hotshot on this issue?

Oh, one more thing,
Don't EVER touch the headers during or soon after running you car. I had on a pair of Mechanix gloves and the header almost burned through the gloves! My finger still got a little burn. ouch!

They look so pretty and shiney.

Hotshot wont do anything about it. Seriously, go to altimas.net and see the HUGEEEEE thread about the CEL and about how Hotshot could care less. Yes, the manual trans guys are having the same problem.

Relocat sensor..

Did anyone else relocate the sensor from the header tube to the collector so that the sensor reads a mean, and not just from that one cyl.?

I relocated mine, and did not have CEL problems... my 2

Which sensor are you referring to? Are talking about the O2 sensor that's visible in the front?
