Brake/Battery dash light flickering
Brake/Battery dash light flickering
On my way to work today my Brake/Battery light starts flickering on and off. So fast that I couldn't read what the light was. Then at a stop it stayed on longer with my foot holding the brake. As I released the brake the light would go off. So at every stop I put it in park. I also had to turn off the radio. Is my car going to die on the way home? I read a few post from 6gen owners saying their Max died in the middle of the road. I'm disappointed now. First this "shimmy" **** and now the battery. It's freezing outside now.
thats cause you have a blown bulb in your tail lights.. I had this happen on my 02 maxima. every time I press the brake some brake light lit up, turns out it was a blown bulb
if its stalling, I can't help with that..

Dealer replaced the Alternator this morning. I thought I could make it around the corner from work to the nearest Nissan dealer. Wrong! The Max died on me. The last car that left me on the side of the road was a 97 Ford Contour SE. The max never died but the rpm's would not move and then it wouldn't start again. All the accessories stayed on.
It happened to me a few times. Both "Brake" and"Battery" lights flicked on for 1/2 a second when I accelerated. At first I thought something was wrong with my eyes. And then only one time I caught it. Otherwise I thought I saw something 'cause my eyes were on the road. It might have happened more often than I could see. But as I know, only 4 times over the 2.5yrs. And I think it only happens after the rain. The last time it happened ? I think yesterday (of course I was looking at the road) and it hasnot rained in a few weeks. The car has been fine, however. My battery posts are corroded but I haven't got any time to clean it up.. But what about the Brake warning light ?
nissans way of telling you the alternator isnt properly charging is by lighting up the brake and battery light. there is a recall on certain muranos (i believe 04-05) where the alternator has to be replaced with a newer version that doesnt have this problem. maybe in a year or two there will be a recall or tsb for your cars also.
i have a 1999 max with the same lights flickering and it seems to be getting worse, the headlights also flicker, but not just dimmer, also bright, to the point that it keeps blowing my high beam lights. also, i was pull over by a cop the other night who thought i was flashing him. i have had the alternator tested and was told it is fine. any suggestions? could it be wiring?
Same thing happening to me, literAlly right this minute. Only
Problem is I lost complete power and was only able to drive 5mph to a shopping center parking lot. Car is running ugly and one by one all my interior lights and gauges went out along with my stereo. WTF? Waiting for a towtruck, so tired of this car! Can anybody give any opinions on what the heck this may be?
