This thread belongs in the Fluids & Lubes section. Will probably be moved there soon.
If you look at the stickies in that section, there are descriptions for doing this work -- and a link to another site with pictures of where the plug is located. You need to be careful not to loosen the wrong nut on the trannie.
Below is the Lubes thread that I discussed.

The first post here has a link in its body for our trannies. You have to read past the info on the earlier gens to get to trannies in 2002 and up Maximas. Be certain to only use GL-4 fluid (do not use GL4-5 fluid). On the greghome site, you can click on the pictures to get them to fit your screen.
I did this work myself using that link on the above thread and post. I needed to buy a tool to open the trannie and a very long funnel to put in the new fluid. Look at the pictures and then your car and you will understand why these tools are necessary.

I did this manual trannie fluid change about 18 months ago. If you have any questions, post them here (or send me a private message). I will be happy to help.
The job is not hard if you have the right tools and know what you are doing. The pictures and diagrams on this other site help a lot.

I don't thinks so. I used Redline at the proper specifications (from Nissan) and expect them to honor the powertrain warranty -- if needed.
Had the specs of the Redline not met what Nissan required, that would be the case.
