coming soon to a maxima near you

the long awaited Racingline Front strut tower brace. These pics are of the final prototype that is scheduled for production late next week. We will most likely be offering both a flat black bar for an OEM look and a bar with metallic blue end brackets with a metallic silver bar. Colors are still up for debate so any input is welcome. All finishes will be a high quality powder coat. The bar itself is/will be 100% bolt on, with a relocation bracket for the clutch reservoir included for manual transmission model cars. It will not touch the manifold or the hood and is very strong. I have a pic of me standing in the center of the bar ( 220lbs) and there was minimal flex ( < 1/4" )

Prices will be confirmed by the weekend but the goal is for the $100 or less range. There will also be an initial pre-order sale available at a very reasonable discount for those wishing to order ahead of time. After which time GB's will be needed for discount pricing.

here's a few pics for now. Look for a test report of both motor mount inserts and this strut bar on the weekend, as our test car will be attending a lapping day session at a local race track.

I'll take one right off the bat if the price is right, black would be a nice touch to maybe match the fujita CAI in wrinkle black finish. I'll also pick up your endlinks at the same time. pm me if you can when you start taking orders.

OMFG.... hold on hold on.... let me do my dance for joy!

i think there should be 4 main colors.

Black, Red, Silver and Blue. Then have limited edition of Carbon Fiber....

From your specs, i may end up buying one for myself.... My Max will thank you!

Your pics show the bar with the plastic engine cover removed. Questions:

- Is it necessary to remove this cover to install the bar?
- If this is yes, is it then possible to reinstall the cover?

It looks and sounds great. At that price (range) you can add me to the list of those wanting to buy one.

No it is not necessary to remove the engine cover. The side covers will however neet to be trimmed if you wish to keep them.

The bar is tubular (hollow) but barely, the walls are quite thick, and it's a steel bar, not aluminum ( at this point) given the fact that clearances on this car are so tight, absolute rigidity was the goal. Like i said in my first post I put the bar on the ground then stood in the middle of it, there was at most 1/4" flex. As for the exact spec of the metal used I'm not sure, that's part of waiting on pricing, I'll know soon though.

As for branding the bar I haven't decided just yet. maybe light engraving, a sticker, are a metal plate tacked to the bar like cusco and opak does.

Taz has said a few times now that you just bolt it on and drive! And it will go over the engine cover but you have to trim the side covers a little bit. come on people!

...btw when are the front end-links coming out? you gave us an inch and we want a mile!!!!

aiite i think someone should start a list here if thats alright with taz...lolxz

and PS i think light engraving or sticker is the best idea...sticker because if people want to they can take it off...engraving because it doesn't get in the way as opposed to a metal plate...

Recently the exchange rate for Canada $ vs US $ has varied between 1.12 to 1.13 Canada to US. So $100 in US would be between $112 and $113 Canadian.

But the exchange rate will likely change over time. It's your guess.

yo i don't know why everybody is making such a big deal about the $100...i mean even if its $150...its still worth it...stillen was about that price range...and i think most people even with that choice either get nothing or go with taz's...

if what taz says is true...that there is no engine rub in forward or reverse...stiffer bar for better handling...less flex...yo i think it would be worth it...espeically if your looking for the peice.

i'm not saying that i wanna pay more its just that if its REASONABLE its exactly that. its worth it.

he said that he weighted about 200+ which is very reasonable...in a sense that it is already better than the stillen from what i've seen of it...it should def provide much more control than the stillen.

however it lacks the cool graphics of the stillen...something i'm willing to sac for quality...lolxz

Ya, i'd rather have taz provide stickers that to engrave REDLINE into it. Even though it's minor, the engraving will probaly weaken the bar by a little bit. my 2 cents

wow if your achually calculating the engravings into it...then yeah you really did engrave tooo deep.

i don't think engraving should cause any problems...its just that i don't know if a lot of people are goin to like it. sticker at least gives YOU the option to keep it and take care of it OR....leave completely blank.

As Ritz would say, "sell the sticker on Ebay, you know someone with a Honda will buy it and put it on their car", and around here it's true. Some of the Honda are held together merely by stickers. (Well Neon's too).
