Another Oil and Filter Post.... sorry
Another Oil and Filter Post.... sorry
hey guys, i know this has been posted before but I cant seem to find it...
Yes, ive spent 15 minutes looking for it and know it would be easier asking you guys....
My oil change is coming up and I dont want to pay the dealer 36.00 to change my oil.
Sooooooooooooooo................. I'm going to do it myself...
What would be the best oil for our 6th gen Maximas and the best oil filter?
-----------------------------
I did see a post regarding oil and filters in the general max area. But I am not sure if 6th gen maximas use the same oil as 4th and 5th gen maximas.
thanks....

2LEET4U - Have you checked the 'Oils and Lubricants' (or whatever it is called) section within the stickies at the top of this board? Should be lots of generally good advice from lots of posters there.
You didn't give your mileage. If you are under 10K miles, please try to avoid synthetics. Your engine will break in more evenly, with parts fitting together more precisely, resulting in a more efficiently operating engine if you stick with dino oil for the first 10 to 20 thousand miles.

READ THAT ^^^^ THREAD FULLY, its specific to our 3.5VQ. ITS LIKE A BIBLE ON THE VQ OILS.
Talk to il_Signore97 that guy is an encyclopedia on oils and will give you the guiding light. I personally run Castrol 0W30 Euro Formula (made in germany) as its on the higher side of the the 30 weight. Engine runs beautifully.
Take Care,
Kam
