UnPainted Section of Bumper

Hey everyone, have a question about the unpainted section of the bumper. Did any of you get it painted? And how much did it cost?

Any pics of it as well? Thank you very much. Wish they would have painted it stock. I don't think I'll be getting a new bumper until a new style like the RLM comes out, but in the meantime, I thought to get rid of that unpainted section and get it painted.

I had the same thoghts yesterday, now that my clips that hold the grill are all buster and the bumper is all scuffed, to say the least, I might at some point change the shell and while getting it painted I would prolly want to have the whole thing painted. Isn't the paint going to chip off that black plastic piece thou????

I bought my car and the previous owner had it done. I personally hated it. I like the black strip much better. My bumper is getting replaced as we speak because of a minor fender bender, and I made sure my body guy doesnt paint it silver on the new bumper. Here is a pic of my car with it painted.

Painting is fine as long as the prep it well. Make sure the add the proper primer, flex additive (very important) and the 2-3 coats of paint.

At first I did too. but after a while I started not to like it. I personally like the black strip, i think it breaks up the silver. I wish someone didnt hit my bumper, I would have traded with you!

it sholdnt cost more then 200 to have it done. just make sure you go to a good paint guy and make sure he preps the plastic well. If he preps it right and uses flex, it will be fine. Mine wasnt chipped or peeling at all.

here is a higer res pic of it

It looks better thought out and a little more refined. The black gives it a sportier look but the color match looks better IMO.

I have an 07 and it comes stock with the black fog light covers. I had those painted to match the bumper for $100. It shouldn't cost you more than $200 and ditto on the prep and the flex additive.

I think painted it looks more "put together". I'm going to find someone who can do it.

I was at the dealer a month ago and noticed that the 07 models on the show room floor had the rear portion of the bumper painted above the exhaust. I guess not everyone likes unpainted bumper sections.
