lowering springs?

i think i might be ready to buy my rims this month or the next. i want to get the springs that lower the front to match the back and keep it flush (20" rims)...i thought it was the eibach's what everyone was going for here but looking online i read they only lower 1" ? is that right? what do you suggest?

I would go with Eibach's. 2inch drop in the front, .8 inch drop in the rear.

I had Eibachs at first, drove on them for almost a year. At first everything was gravy, but after a while they got noisier and noisier......in the end i switched to progress, price and ride are great not to mention the drop is great too!!!! Here is one of mine too!!

Enjoy,
Chef

The eibachs even it out nice but I have had 20" on the maxima for a little over 7 months and wish that I had bought some 22". If you have not bought your rims yet then you should think about buying the 22". Because the 20" look close to factory, they do not look like big rims. Could be me but I will be selling my 20" for some 22" around tax time.

If I lower my car with Eibach springs do I need to replace the shocks and struts? And will I be able to align the car to factory specs.

You don't necessarily need to change them but it would be a smart thing to do 'cause individuals have reported OEM shock/strut failure after installing lowering springs.

I personally would recommend a Progress/KYB combo. I am sure Cattman offers some sort of deal on the whole package and Progress Springs are getting much better reviews then EIBACHS on this forum.

Funny, my right front strut went out before I put the springs on.

Since I installed the Eibachs I have had some noise when I turn into parking lots, parallel parking, turning into driveways; stuff like that. Normal driving has been perfectly fine. I've been running stock shocks/struts/Eibachs for over a year now.

Ram,
What do you have in that trunk? My rear end sorta looks like that when I have my 12 inch sub in the trunk.

AllBlackMax you always seem to do things half-a*s

For your brakes, you only change pads

For your suspension, you only change springs

I wonder what your exhaust mod looks/going to look like, tips only?

They plus the gr-2's are a very nice combination. Way better than the OEM setup.

I found the Progress springs on the stiff side. I like the Eibach's better. The drop is almost the same. I have KYB GR-2 all around. Front strut noise is cause by a faulty installation, not the strut. The parts under the top insulator must be cleaned, greased (white) and re-aligned after they are removed. Noise during turns may be dirt in the nylon bushing or the top insulator/bearing is not aligned properly.

When you do the front springs, decide if you want to replace the struts (shocks) at the same time. The struts must be removed anyway to replace the springs. Save some labor, do springs and struts. Maybe an FSTB too. When you do the back, throw in a Progress sway bar. And maybe some end-links. It just doesn't stop.

Dosen't anyone use the search tab anymore...?

Look through a few previous pages, you'll find hundreds of spring threads. Hell, theres 2 or 3 on the front page right now. Im pretty sure they will help with any questions you guys might have.

The ride will suck tremendously, but quite a few people have 22's on their Max paired with lowering springs. I know that some have had issues with rubbing in the front while turning and rubbing in the rear when going off of bumps.

Got the Eibachs by default I ordered the Progress because most guys on here were recommending them, the company I ordered them from didn't tell me they were out of progress springs but instead emailed saying they had Eibachs...I said **** it yea send em, funny thing is I love the drop the Eibachs bring! But like another person said, on 20s it's gonna give u a more sporty look if u tryna look tucked you gotta go 22s, but I also don't think the 20s look bad
