i think by categorizing anyone with big rims on their cars as "ghetto", poor, dumb people who take loans out to buy rims shows how closed minded, ignorant, and idiotic u really are.
(matter of opinion ofcourse)

Hmm...well, if you could read and comprehend english, I stated that the people who see these wheels as some sort of status symbol are usually of the lower income bracket.

Bravo!

This fourum is chock full of "enthusiasts"

anyone know of a forum where I can find people who, for the most part, are knowledgeable about these cars?

I have seen a few here, don't get me wrong, but I come from a place called twinturbo.net, where enthusiasts dominate.

everyone sees these as status symbol, big wheels=baller, besides making the car look better and different from the millions of people who have the same stock car, with the same stock paint with the same stock hubcaps/wheels.

not too many people here care about your ramblings about non accurate speedometer (like it matters), stressing your drivetrain (has anyones or friends had a drivetrain replaced because of rims? didnt think so) and making car work harder from a full stop( i pay for my own gas, u dont) like an overprotective mother (stay off the phone when theres a lighting storm! u can get electrocuted!)

maybe you should try to find another forum with people who are elitist "enthusiasts" who arent "ghetto" and actually know a thing or two about our cars because theres not too many of those here

Thats, straigt up bull crap.

Eveyone I see around my way whose got ghetto rims on drives BASE max. You want status get an escallade or S600 and complement it with forged rims.

Then we'll talk status

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, EVERYONE

Kind of off topic, but the only thing you are accomplishing by replying with these smart @ss remarks is coming off as an @sshole - not to mention just an all around close-minded ignorant person.

But anyway...if I were you I'd go with 21s or 22s, but if i had to do 20s, id do staggered 20s. I went with 20s and regretted that descision ever since.

staggered rims are when the rear wheels are wider than the front wheels ie 20X10 in the rear and 20X8.5 in the front...some people might call u a poser cuz our cars are fwd, but to me it looks bada$$.

Dont forget about the weight factor.... the more chrome you have, the heavier... heavier = slower car....

mine are 20's and weigh 27.5 lbs. each..

No point in getting rims if your not lowered yet.

Nice Rims (regardless of size) + wheel gap = ghey

LOL!

Ya'll are brutal on this thread. Newbies, get used to it.

IMO if you're gonna skate on 22's get color matched spokes with a polished or chromed lip; that way the wheels don't look too over the top.

Everybody said the same thing when trends switched from 14's to 16's to 18's to 20' and finally to 22's. If you want them get them. 22's are entirely to gaudy for me. I personally think they only look good on SUV's and american cars with some candy paint. Im from the hood. I paid for my rims with str8 cash. But what does financing rims have to do with being lower class? I was in best buy today and a guy was financing a tv that was half the price of most rims. Is he poor...i think the man just wanted a tv.

Right. A TV is a staple in almost every American home. A tv is almost viewed as a necessity. 22" wheels are not. Your car can work perfectly fine with the stock wheels. Besides, Circuit City and Best Buy offer no interest financing for up to two years now. FREE MONEY wooohhooooo!

Okay....we all know its just a matter of preference. It is fair enough to say that everyone is entitled to their opinion, but for the love of god leave human race stats and abilities out of the punches........it is your decision to put what ever on your car but have a complete understanding and a plethra of information before you do decide to get into a big wheel which over time can and will cause some sort of damage........yes even twenties will do this.......yes they are great to look at and they do attract alot of unwanted/wanted attention to your ride. Just the other day my car was on the lift measuring for a turbo set up and a customer walks into the bay and asks????? what kind of wheels are those???? he would be about 35ish or so and totally caught me of gaurd with the question, why????.because here you have a car with much much more time and work into it and he looks just at the wheels.......somthing you just pick out and bolt on, never mind the custom exhaust or the RLM bumper with frenched in fogs, or the NOS purge solinoids that are clearly visable from where he was standin. It didnt matter if thats what excited him about the car then great...AGAIN TO EACH HIS/HER OWN!!!!!!

Here is a pic of my ride can you tell me what size i am sporting?.why and how do you know?

Its not the size that matters its what you do with your size that counts.LOL!!

Best post yet. I'd say 18's or 20's - also, what % tint you got? I was thinking of doing 5 in the back (including rear window) and 15 on the front windows (no windshield)

@tehaviator - youre still coming off as an @ss. and yes, you are close-minded if you keep stating your opinion as a fact.

He's asking what size do you think he's sittin on, not what brand or style. Anyway I think they are 20's, maybe even 19's because of how low your car sits. Nothing smaller than a 19 and no bigger than a 20.

I posted this in the 6th gen and not the tires forum because I want opinions from people with the same car as me.. I'm wondering if you all could give me opinions on this, maybe someone whos had both, or somethin like that, thanks.

edit: anyone wanna shoot me a link to that 3d rim visualizer program? I cant find it anywhere..

Dude dont even drive down East or Oakland Park then..
You gotta ask yourself what are you looking fo?

The Infamous Trick 305 Donk Riders.. Dubs? 22s ??

I was thinking about 22's BUT less of the chrome and I would have them staggered with a deep deep lip , like a BMW 7.45 Series...

I have connection for Tires and 22s arent cheap , I own 4 Nissans but still I drive them all around and tires get expensive.

I went with 20s and they are perfect for the car.
http://www.putfile.com/dohboi1o1/images/33258
^^ thats my ride .. to each and their own...

20s or 22s , whichever floats your boat..

But if your going to go 22s ,might as well do them on a Chevy.

Again it depends on the "look" you want...

That tight Euro/jdm slammed lookish

or

The Donk Riding High look like the DoHBoiz

or

do the Euro slammed with 22 stagger and deep lip look.

Wheels

Hello! I'm a new member to the maxima.org site, I currently own a 2005 Nissan Maxima Se that was purchased back in Sept.2006. Currently I've performed some minor modification/fabricated projects to improve the regular Status-Quo appearance and performance of my vehicle. This forum conversation about rim size has really brought out some intense opinion. Which is kind of intriguing, because it does BASICALLY boil down to personal preference. My Maxima currently has 22's on it, Yes! 20's probably would have looked, OK!. But think for a minute, about all the Concept cars that have been designed, they consist on larger wheels, panels, grills, etc........; an there approach to uniqueness doesn't make them GHETTO or low income. Because these ideas/design are to be totally unique from any other vehicle. Which makes it just that "UNIQUE" not "GHETTO". I've been R.N for over 12 years, and let me tell ya, there are more doctors, technicians, therapist, radiologists, etc.......... sporting 22's and up. An I'm sure when they receive a compliment on there cars appearance/performance, is a respectful and polite gesture. If your not feeling someones approach towards there vehicles appearance or performance, don't insult them, keep it respectful, NOT hateful! Plus insulting someone status an integrity is not cool, but HAY! Lets move on to brighter things, can't wait to start my first post here, I have a lot of pics for you guys. Later.................

Is that an OEM bumper? Looks good, the cts grill is kinda odd, would look better with a nissan emblem on it.

Its cool but I have 18's and the ride is lowered. As I do alot of driving up and down the East Coast these rims are good enough for now.

I agree that the Cadillac Cts grill is different, but when I'm done with fiberglass work, it will not have a emblem @ all. It's still in the making, what your viewing now is only temporary. Yes! The bumper is O.E.M, took only 2 days with some goofy off to complete, but other then that it turn out great. Sheet metal, rivets, fiberglass and bondo did the trick.
