ECM Reprogramming?

I took my car to the dealer to get my new CD player installed (warranty, FTW). Anyway, while I was in Houston this weekend, I threw an SES light, which later went away (after like 2 days of being on). They checked for the code, and told me it was nothing...that the ECM needed to be reporgrammed. It even uses that verbiage on the invoice "Reprogrammed ECM".

WTF is that? I coulda just disconnected the battery myself. I'm sure it's gotta be something more complex than that.

EDIT: The light came on as a result of going WOT (in the manual shift gate...but automatic shifts) from 0-80ish. Came on right at about 60mph.

You need a special port and software to do it. Is the car driveable?

Yeah. I'm driving it now. Just curious. Same as most cars, just wasn't too familiar with having to reprogram an ECM without major work being done.
