04 maxima bose changer loosing left channel

I recently bought a 04 maxima with cd changer, in last two weeks I have been noticing my left channel sound comes and goes but right channel stays ok, it even goes in and out if I hit a small bump on the road, but what makes it interesting is when playing the radio it doesn't do that. Is there a possiblity of anything being loose in the cd changer that can cause it?

My left front tweeter has no sound coming out of it. It use to come and go before, but now it is completely dead. I took it to the dealer and they said that my warranty will not cover it because I added a sub and amp to the stock system. Yet this problem started happening BEFORE I did this install... I hate Nissan because they come up with every excuse in the book. I need to figure out whats wrong with this because I am sick of it not working

Yeah,I have the same problem. If I hit a bump or turn a corner to hard the left speaker goes out,but mine does it with the radio also. The dealer switched out the speaker and it still does it, now the warrenty is done and now their saying it might be an electrical problem when I have to pay for it.

I had the same problem about 2 years ago, the dealer has to swap out the head unit and changer to correct the problem. They said it wasn't the speakers it was the unit.

HU's in the 04 are notorious for failing, mine went out under warranty, about 10K miles ago, now having the same problem again, but, alas, out of warranty now. Found a guy in SoCal that will repair it if I pull it and ship it to him. Nissan will charge around $1000 to replace it with a "reconditioned" HU if not under warranty.

I had the same problem in my '04 especially during colder weather. I'd have to eject the disc, reload it, and then the problem would disappear. I know you shouldn't have to do this, but there you go. Definitely a problem with the HU not the speakers.

Left Side Cutting Out / Bad Ribbon Cable

Click on this link and follow the instructions. It's the ribbon cable in the CD changer, not the speakers. I fixed the Bose radio in my 04 Maxima about a month ago. So far, so good! Let us know how you make out.

Don't change the speaker, because with the Bose if you change one thing then you have to change it all, speakers, head unit and amp.
