Ahh, the 6th Gen...

You guys have probably seen this but what the heck.

I think this write up sums it up well...

BTW The first thing I noticed was the frikkin' front wheel gap.

While the article has no date on it, the pictures are all dated 2004 and there is no discussion of the CVT in the 2007 version. It was clearly written before Nissan switched to the 5 speed auto trannie in the SL versions of the Max -- which happened in late spring of 2004 (if my memory is correct).

Not sure, I purchased my 6th Gen Max (SE) in August of 2003 and my ride has a 5AT???

Only the early 04 SLs had the 4-speed auto trannie.

I remember that writeup. IIRC, it was around February 2003.

The '04 SL was changed from 4 speed auto to 5 speed tiptronic Feb 6 2004.
