it is.

and yes, a tb spacer does help, but not as much. it's well worth it to get this whole kit instead of just a tb spacer.

I'm trying to get through steps 7 to 12 of the install document and I'm not exactly sure what I'm looking for. Can anyone shoot me a better description of the below items or some pictures? I'm stuck...and don't want to screw this up...

7) Disconnect Brake Booster Breather Hose

10) There is a support bracket below the Elbow near the firewall. Remove this bracket completely and leave it off the motor. The UIM will not bolt back up the bracket is left in place with spacers installed.

12) (For years 04-07) Unbolt the EGR bracket strap from the backside of the UIM on the passenger side. There is one bolt holding that bracket in place.

Ok....I got through most of it. Are you guys leaving the factory gaskets in or taking them off?

What do the instructions say? You're using the black RTV and he phenolic as a new gasket.

Do not use any factory gaskets. The intake spacers along with RTV act as gaskets.

I don't even think you have one of these and you know the instructions better than the ones that have it in front of them!

I have a set, just haven't installed them just yet. I'm being lazy, and it's far too hot over here to start. After work, the car is hot, so by the time it cool down, I'm winding down for the day.

Although there was one time last summer I got a hair and changed all 6 injectors after work.

Well...got them on. All the factory gaskets off. Took me like 5 or 6 hours going slow...plus I have big hands (I'm a tall guy)...I had a ***** of time with the hoses and plugs behind the elbow. Fired it up once and now messages, so hopefully I got it all sealed up right. Going to take it for a spin to find out.

took me closer to 4 hours, and I was taking my time too.. I'm a perfectionist... behind that elbow is the hardest part.. if it wasn't for that it'd probably have taken me more like 2 hours.. hope it turns out good

oh.. and did you just ask for pictures of the back of the elbow?? ha!

My hands are all cut up and roughed up. I agree, probably more like 2 hours if I didn't have to deal with the back of the IM.

So far so good. Took it out for like 10 miles or so and no error codes. I assume that means I am ok...its my wife's car...so she will raise heck if there are issues

Is the engine / coolant temperature supposed to go up? I think mine is in the middle of C and H....

No, the engine coolant temperature is not suppose to rise a single degree. If it did, check the level of your coolant. Also, it's suppose to sit right near the middle. That usually means you are between 160 and 230 degrees. The stock coolant gauge isn't meant to be accurate.

Just ordered mine. And I'm waiting for my Unorthodox sc pulley to ship too... that won't get here for another week at least. Going to try and get them installed at the same time, but my patience is wearing thin!

Hopefully the FSTB from taz will fit with the spacers installed.

Thanks. It will ship first thing tomorrow. You should get it on Thursday. Let me know if you have any questions.

About the FSTB, it should fit. But, you may have to put a couple washers on the strut studs to raise the bar some.

Yeah just got the confirmation email. Awesome!

And thanks for the reminder about the washers. I read through this thread post by post last night and already forgot all about that! Now I gotta play the waiting game for the FSTB!

If you order it on Friday by 2pm, then it will go out the same day and you should receive it by Monday. But if you order after 2pm, normally it won't go out until Monday morning, which means you won't get it until Thursday. But I will do what I can to make sure it's shipped early Saturday morning so you'll get it by Tuesday. I'll just have to do it before I take off for the Maxima meet we have this weekend.

There is one thing I can't stand and that is waiting over a week for a new mod to come in. That is why I ship by a 2 or 3 day method and I usually ship the same day depending on when the order is received.

That's beside the topic here because Aaron has already addressed the retune situation re: spacers. And no, they shouldn't alter the AFR to the point of retuning.

As for the manifold, of course. As with any breathing mod, I think it's at least worth a look (AFR)

I'm ordering mine as soon as I am back from Afghanistan.

Hey, someone should sticky this under Mods info. It would be great. Post some photos and add a star-difficulty rating.

I am excited about this mod.

How much are you guys paying to have these spacers installed? I'm getting a price in a day or two and want to make sure I'm not getting ripped off.

I paid an extra $50! But that is because the tech was extremely cool and willing to work on a "modded" Maxima because he previously had one.

I would say expect paying around $100-$150ish

All orders are place through my website at www.nwpengineering.com. NWP Engineering was formally known as Nissan Works. I decided to change the company name.

I don't expect you to read this entire thread. If you have any questions, feel free to email me or post here.

NICE!!!

Thanks for the info!!!

Question for sure... I am probably not the first to ask... But can we really expect 10HP and 12ft-torque if we have OEM Heads and Manifold though?

Price is great if I may add

Of course! The spacers were tested on a 2K2 Maxima with intake and exhaust. The engine had the OEM heads and intake manifold. No port work was done either.

You can definitely expect to see an AVERAGE gain of 10 hp and 12 ft-lbs of torque. I say average and NOT peak gains like all other companies claim. Most companies do a few dynos before and after and take the lowest 'before' and highest 'after' dyno to base their claims on.

Instead, I did 3 'before' and 3 'after' dynos to come up with an average gain.

The dyno results can be found on my website HERE.

Wow,

Call the same places and ask if they can change your spark plugs, if they say yes, then you should go to their shop and hit them with what ever you can find close to you!

What I'm trying to say, that if a shop can do spark plugs on our car (which I'm sure any REAL shop would do) then they have to take off the IM to get to the rear 3 plugs anyways.
