New Rubber

On doing some research before I bought my Maxima, I remember reading several different articles where they talked about trouble with the Goodyears that came with the vehicle. I bought an extended warranty which actually covers tires. My guess is they would replace them with the same kind, but if I decide to purchase some on my own, what are some recommendations. I have an SE. Also, I'm looking for some new rims, I'm a fan of five spokes, any manufacturers or specific models I should be looking at??

I should add, I really like KcMaxx's rims, so if you see this post, can you give me a little insight? Thanks.

If your going five spoke I'd recommend Nismo for light weight. As for tires it depends on what you are looking to accomplish. All season, UHP, wet performance. The most important thing to remember is don't cheap out on tires.

You might want to check Centerlinewheels. They offer a few 5-spoke models. Centerline’s rims are forged billet aluminum. Their 18 inch 5-spoke models weight about 16-17 pounds, but have about the same strength as our 28 pound cast aluminum rims. The big bonus is they cost around $200 per rim. For forged aluminum, that’s cheap. If you happen to like their looks, they’re an awesome value.

If your tires do become defective (side wall cracking), Goodyear will give you a claim number, ask where you live then find the nearest tire inspection place closest to you. If the inspector determines the tires have issues, then yes Goodyear will replace them. They will also take into consideration the mileage, if the tires have high mileage, they will only pay a percentage of the new tire cost.

My boy ramberg had this issue (TWICE) with his RSA's and he got an entire replacement set, then requested the Goodyear F-1's and all he did was pay the difference in price between the two tires.

If your location is correct "Fargo ND" you definitely should look for an all-weather high performance tire verse a sticky summer tire...

Also, check out the Tirerack.com they have great deals on Tire/Rim combo's and you can select your car, color and when you select a rim you can actually see what it will look like on your Max, discounttire.com is another good source...

Good luck

Thanks for the comp's... My wheels are 20" Foose Speedsters. What can I say, I love them. I also recently bought the 100K ext. warranty. It covers aftermarket tires too. Up to $300 per tire. Make sure to take advantage of the glass etching, the paint protectant, the interior sealing and the undercoating! I saw another wheel thread I really liked. The Axis Shine. I believe SEGIRL or someone picked up a set. Great looking wheel...

Heres a link that might help you out : WHEELS Good luck!

I guess I have an open 5 spoke wheel with mad cheap Riken tires...and they ride and handle just as well as the very expensive GY F1's I used to own.
