2007 Max.
glad I saw this thread as I'm now looking at a 07 max. sold my infiniti g20t to my son..best car I have every owned as far as reliability. Iam very disappointed there is no 6 speed manaul like 06 which has me also looking at the altima 3.5 but dealers here are giving better prices on the max as I was quote for a base max of $23.995 I haven't driven it yet not real sure about the CVT . wonder how costly this trans is to have rebuilt????????

Seems these would all be standard selections in a "MAXIMA". My Altima had these option settings and was smooth as glass at 90 MPH. I'm not a complainer. Just expected a little more from this car.
I am SO glad that the Max doors don't autolock - it is possibly the most annoying nanny feature possible. Volvo, one of the most safety oriented car manufacturers out there, includes autolock capability in its cars but its disabled from the factory with a STRONG warning/advisiory NOT to have the dealer activate it due to it being a hindrance to rescue efforts in the event of an accident.
Does not your low fuel light come on well before hitting the "0 MILES TO EMPTY" point. Mine comes on with over 8 gallons still in the tank and the "0 MILES" message pops up with four gallons remaining. This seems to be consistent with others, so I would not worry about making it a few miles to a gas station if you do get that message.
All good points and thanks Lightonthehill for the info on the vibration issue. I'm going to bring that up to the dealer. The lights on automatically with wipers is a good option I think for safety reasons. The door locks is a catch 22. Good because when the wife drives I like for her to have the doors locked. I never considered the emergency response issue. Correct on CVT. Little concerns with reliability however it did take some getting use to. One thing I've noticed though. If I'm crusing around 50 MPH and push the gas pedal half way to the floor it will haul *** but if I try to floor it it acts almost like its flooding. let off a little and it perks right up. Anyone else notice that? On the other hand, if I use the manual tapping it really performs. If I can just get the vibration remedied I'll be one happy camper because I really do love the car. I had to have it as soon as I saw it on the lot.
As for the gas light, you are correct that the indicator light comes on 1st but I was rocking to to the sound on the awesome Bose system and never saw the indicator light but I did notice the warning panel display. Isolated incident but a learning experience. Didn't run out of gas but the suspense was killing me.

Extreme 1 - Don't bother complaining about the visibility of the 'fuel low' light on this board. I mentioned several times here over the past four years that it is not very noticable during daylight, and each time was informed that the problem was strictly my lack of attention or lack of eyesight.
I always try to pay attention to the guages, but in all honesty, I find out I am low on fuel only by looking at the guage. The little 'low fuel' light is totally unnoticable to me as I fight through congested traffic during daylight hours.

Several in this thread mentioned door locks. For years I have always been careful to lock all doors when driving where I feel the possibility of being carjacked warrants it (that includes ALWAYS at ALL stop signs and traffic lights in 'rough' areas, and when arriving at/leaving convenience stores/gas stations, etc). At all other times (especially on freeways), I keep all doors unlocked. I do that because, in those situations, the possibility of needing rescue in a smashed vehicle is far greater than being carjacked.
Sure, that is a lot of trouble to go to. For months, my wife resisted taking the trouble. She now does this automatically. If done on a regular basis, it becomes easy to do without having to think about it.
