possible water in oil
possible water in oil
long story short, cliff notes:
max w/ CAI
-raining real bad; construction in the middle lane, so i switched to the right lane.
-as i drove through the water, felt the water was high, so let off the gas, put the car in netral and let it coast.
-got to a gas station, touched the filter, felt dry but the car felt sluggish to accelerate.
-went home, disconnected teh batt, put in oem intake, hoping that the system would reset [just a thought]; didnt do anything.
-going to do oil change and see what happens, i dont think there is any water but damaging a motor over a jug of syn oil isnt worth the headache.
ideas anyone?

The only way I know that water could get in the oil system while you were driving would be if something gave way in the engine. Driving a hot engine into cold water can sometimes cause something like an engine block or cylinder head to crack, allowing fluids to intermingle. Or maybe a gasket gave way.
I hope you find no water in your oil, or oil in your coolant. Either is a bad sign.

If the CAI sucked water (which it didn't, you said filter was dry) you would be done, well done. Let us all know what happens.
Another thought, maybe its some electronics that got floded.
i got off work late today so i didnt get a chance to do an oil change.
lightonthehill. good point, i almost forgot about checking the coolant. i will do that as well. ill do that in about a couple of hrs so the car will cool down.
xoomer.com - i was thinking that as well, maybe some water got on something and caused some effect
4myswee - i am not getting any codes.
i disconnected teh battery and going to let the car "reset" and see what happens when i go to work in the monring.
when i checked teh oil before i left and when i got home, it was between the L and H [more towards teh H] so i know i didnt lose any.
wish me luck ...
