Installed SS Brake lines and Hawk Pads
First, the cost.....
Pads f/r $160 or so for the set at Pep Boys
SS Lines $150 at Mossy
Brake Fluid $20 at Autozone
Installation/bleed $80 at dealer.
Thoughts.... First and foremost, I dont feel much of a difference, if any. Granted, I didnt do any crazy braking, and I also had to break the pads in per the instructions.
Now, the dealer installed brand new stock rotors all the way around today under warranty, so maybe its a stock rotor thing. However, I feel the pedal feel is the exact same.
I got the lines from Mossy and had the dealer install them, I never even opened the bag. (From memory and not sure exactly what happened) The dealer noted that the lines seemed to be missing a clip or "coupler" as the SS line is simply resting inside on of the holes where the plastic lines had a gromet holding it in place. He said it is most likely nothing to worry about, but thought it may eventually cause the line to wear. The guy brought it up just thinking that there should have been an extra reassurance that the lines wouldnt "rub" on anything.
Anyway, my thoughts are this... After spending $400 or so, I think there should be some better results for braking/feel. Granted, I havent "locked them up" but I think I should have put the money towards a new brake kit, or at least new calipers.
Lesson learned.

wow, i am surprised, i wouldve thought you would have been able to feel a noticible difference. you purchased nice parts. that was my next step to do after i figure out my tire issues. from what ive read from other threads is that you should be able to feel a better "bite" when you break and a less spongy feeling due to the SS lines over teh oem rubber ones.

I find that the Maxima brakes seem to have an inherent sponginess which I dislike. I believe that the master cylinder is flexing, which causes the sponginess. I know that someone, maybe Stillen, produces a master cylinder brace for the 350Z to prevent flexing.

You will definitely feel the difference while doing numerous high speed braking and while spirited driving. The SS lines reduce brake fade which is what happens when the rotors heat up and the stock rubber lines expand which is also a cause of brake fade. The HPS pads are definitely a plus for reducing brake fade as well. The set-up that you got is pretty much the best bang for buck for stopping from high speeds and obviously just daily driving.

I definately noticed a difference when I added the ss lines, I dunno what u were expecting. Its certainly not going to be anything like going to a larger brake setup or multi piston calipers but I thought it was worth it.

How did you break-in the pads? brake from 30mph to 0 in 2-3 seconds, no panic brake. Release brake immediately and drive for about a minute for cooling. Repeat 10 times or more.
That missing grommet is normally a must. The bracket could eventually cut through the brake line but its Stainless Steel (SS) covered so maybe not.
What brake fluid did you buy? Dot 3 or 4 right? Maybe 5.1?
The pedal should have gone from rubber band like feeling to a firm feel with about half the travel required. Well I will suggest that you get a second bleeding all around.
