105K I think.

Ask the dealer because you have to be very specific as far as specs go. I had a jeep and went out and bought 6 BOSCH platinum with 4 of those tips (don't know exact term) and after a while my engine began idling funny. I went to see a mechanic and the minute I told hime I did the tune-up myself he knew whats up. He told me to get some cheap Champion or some other plugs of specific spec which were like 4-5 times cheaper and after changing it the problem went away.

Moral of the story: You can't shave yourself with a rotten tomato!

I tend to stick with the OEM NGK.
If the recommended change interval is at 100k miles,
you'll notice a difference by changing the plugs at 90k.

Yea, I use bosch in my audi. And I belive like everyone here NGK is good for Nissan. It tends to work out that If you have a german car, then you use german plugs. and the same goes for japanese.

This thread has basic plug info.

www.dodgeforum.com/m_610347/tm.htm

OEM is NGK Platinum PLFR5A-11. Not recommended with nitrous.
NGK Iridium IX LFR5AIX-11 or Denso IKH16 - Ok with nitrous

I use NGK when possible.

So, are changing the plugs on our engines a diy job or is it better to go to a mechanic? Don't know how hard the back 3 plugs are to reach to change.

Also, what are good plug wires? Should we change the wires when we change the plugs?

Plug wires

Here's a place to start.

Hey NmexMAX, thanks for the link. That's an awesome writeup! Think I can handle the plug change myself now.

Oh, and I didn't know about the wires. <insert embarrassed icon here>

Just an update. Changed the plugs today using the info from the link that NmexMax posted. That link is for VQ35's in 5.5 gen but works for the 6th gen with a couple of minor differences.

On the 6th gen you can't reach the 2 bolts behind the collector with a socket from above because the area where the wiper blades go comes way out over the collector. I used a closed end 10mm wrench and eventually got the bolts out. There is one other bolt to the left of the first two which holds a wire harness. This bolt should come out too -- get to it from the other side of the collector. I also found it easier to remove the unit that the black air box connects to(throttle body, maybe? 4 allen bolts) as it has a bracket which keeps will keep you from removing the collector. There is one other L shaped pipe which bolts to the side of our 6th gen manifolds which does not appear in any of the 5.5 gen photos I've seen. This needs to come off too.

The whole job took about 3 hours.

Many BMW shops use ONLY NGK plugs. The bosch name isn't what it used to be and even BMW Motorsport uses NGK plugs instead of Bosch.
