I just got my '04 a month ago, has 44.5K miles, no peeling yet. I bought it in excellent condition. BTW, I use a wash & wax with carnauba and works very well. The thing is I don't know if it protects the paint, does it? Anybody knows?

Just another minor fault in the Maxima...BUT there's a cheap and effective way to fix it.

Get a razor blade and carefully trim around the bubbled clearcoat so that you get it as close to where it's not bubbling as possible. After you do this just use a light coat of TOUCH-UP paint to seal it off!

Did this on my car and it works great...even though I will have to do it on more spots under the bumper soon But better this instead of re-clearcoating the whole bumper (if there is such a thing)

Good question Nismo.

My grille had peeled and been replaced 2ce. My bumper hasn't peeled at all.

Has anybody used Meguiar's ScratchX? I have a few scratches since I bought my Maxima used and apparently this is supposed to do a very good job of clearing them out.
Any back up to these claims?

My grille on my 05 was peeling too and i wondered about it,then i saw a post here where guys were debating if warranty covered it,the pics looked just like what was happening to mine and i only got 19000 on my 05,i took it in and got it replaced under warranty last week. So all in all pics helps a lot.
