How Good are tht Tein SS

Hello MAxima friends,
I wish happy mothers day to all the mothers on the board.

I just purchased these coilovers from stillen, I got a 06 Maxima.
For the 1300.00 I just Paid to get them is it really worth the change? I am doing this upgrade because I hate going on the Interstate and feeling my car sway when I am switching lanes . It seems like the car rolls a little bit as well. I also have the front strut bar and rear sway bar installed

I had a 2000 with H& R Sprins and Tokico Struts along with front and rear strut bars and a rear sway bar. That car was awesome.

Will the Teins give me the same type of effect?

Thanks all@!

They obviously will and since these are coilovers, then it should have an even greater effect.

You didn't waste your money. I'd pay the same for coilovers with camber kits. Did you get camber kits?

My buddy bought Tein coil overs for his 5th gen and he paid 1450 plus tax. But these were brand new. He's satisfied with them. Very smooth ride plus adjusting the height is so easy.

I wish they made FLEX for our car. The SS is just the Basic with adjustable dampers

If you liked the ride quality of the H&R's on your 2000, you should have just gotten them for your 2004, don't you think?

Coilovers will NOT improve your ride quality, and you won't get the performance upgrade if you're doing highway cruising as much as someone who autocrosses or something.....

I would say:
return them, and then for half the price go get some H&R springs and Illumina struts, which will be just as good for highway driving.

I love the ride on these but I cant get the rear wheels to align properly because of the bolts not being long enough. I think they need to be a little more forgiving on bumps but I do love them! I can do some sick stuff with them on the road and Have found that if I get the electronic damper switch it will only improve my handleing@!

How does getting the EDFC improve your handling? ALL it controls is how stiff you want the dampers. YOU just don't have to get out of the car to adjust. You could get the same dampening results if you DIDN'T have the edfc..

you have 10 more posts to go!!

Because it will go from 16 positions to 32 position on the damper giving me a little more flexibilty on the ride comfort and quality!

I've had the Tein SS on my 00 Max for a few years now and they still ride like a champ. I don't think that you will sacrifice the luxury ride on the SS's. I ride with my dampers on the stiffest settings and my wife doesn't even think the are too stiff. Personally, I wish they were actually a lot stiffer. For cruising they ride like a champ. They only come with a 7kg/mm spring rate in the front and a 6kg/mm in the rear. I'm in the process now of figuring out what new spring rate and length of the new springs I'm going to get. THey are pricey, but its a good quality buy. BUt like IRISH44J said, you can get a set-up without the adjustability for half the cost...< TH
