Any aftermarket Radio in an 07?

I apologize if this has been discussed or addressed before; but I couldn't find any thread about it....

I was wondering if anyone replaced their Bose radio in their 07 Max? If so, can you please post pics?

I see alot of people have the new Pioneer D3 in their 04-06 Max, but wonder how it would look in an 07, and how difficult it is to replace...

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated...

This is one of the most mind boggling topics for me. I have an 04 w/ Bose and Nav that has issues with the CD player. I too would like to upgrade to an aftermarket HU while maintaining the NAV, but the Crutchfield website states that if the radio is replaced, NAV is lost. I just keep checking every once in a while to see if someone has more info on this. If I see anything, I'll send you a PM...

Why not just upgrade the NAV? I've heard the stock NAV isn't that good anyways. You can do what I did and get a HU for $1000...

And as for the 07 haven't seen one yet....

They just came out with a dash kit for the 07 max. It fits a double din HU, so you should be fine with the pioneer. Metra 99-7421

Anyone know if you can replace the standard cd/tape combo with the bose one of the same year Maxima? I'd like to make that swap but don't want to buy one to find that it wont swap.

interested too...

I too am considering an option like this but I haven't found pix of an 07' aftermarket setup yet. Im hoping that someone will release an ipod interface for the 07' Max very soon, otherwise I might need to pursue an aFtermarket HU instead.

Every single function on the 07 in intergrated through the nav. If you changed it you probably would lose the ability to see climate controls, tire pressure, fuel remaining, and not to mention controling every feature of the electrical system is done through the nav screen.

Exactly.. I've been stuck on this issue for past couple months. I want to integrate CarPC into my 07, but I don't want to drop the stock screen and lose all of this info. And it's not easy to properly input an additional video source (of decent quality) into this screen.

I'm now thinking about leaving the stock screen there and adding an additional screen down where the cubby is in front of the shifter (or possibly pulling out the stock HU).. I attached a screen shot to see where I'm talking about. I haven't done any measurements, just been looking at pictures. So I'm not sure if either place is even feasible. But any thoughts?

I have the Non-Navi model so I wonder if I do replace the Stock HU will I also loose the ability to view AVG MPG, AVG MPH, and fuel remaining data... I have that BS split screen so I know the AC data will still be in tact (I hope so)

Damm thats sucks....

Is is possible to just add the OEM Navi screen to still be able to have all the AVG MPG, AVG MPH, and fuel remaining data?

I know its not worth trying to add the OEM Navi system as it is not feasible to do... but still will like to have all the other data that it displays... then add an aftermarket In Dash Navi system like the Pioneer AVIC-D3 where the OEM Radio is...

So if I were to pull out the stock bose HU I'll lose my nav as well? Why is this? There is an entirely separate control panel for the nav screen than the radio. It seems like the only thing that ties these two together would be an audio in from the nav to the radio so you can hear the voice guidance. Can anyone confirm this?

I really would like to pull out the stock hu and pop in a screen for my carpc, but I don't want to lose my nav. Thoughts?

I asked them for more details for the 07 kit..He replied with a lame answer, stating what is on the site is what you're getting..I would have to see this installed on a 07 before I buy it..I asked for pics, still waiting for a reply from them...

I just talked to crutchfield chat about losing the nav functionality. He said he spoke with a technician who informed him the Maxima is similar to the 350z.. in that the nav will continue to function, but you will lose the voice guidance and bluetooth functionality. I have voice guidance turned off and I think there are a ton of pc bluetooth apps that would outperform Nissan's so this is good news to hear.

Also, like you had mentioned the kits won't work for the bose radio with the navigation system, so I will have to custom fabricate something to mount the screen. After looking at pics it looks like the non-nav HU is a bit larger than the one I have. I'll have to do some measuring to make sure whatever HU I get will fit in the space available.

ladams02 thanks for the update...I don't have the Navi unit just the Stock SL Radio (Bose). I believe the your Navi screen has the same interface as the Murano where it will give you the MPG, Accerlation Bar indicator, etc...

Will you also loose that function if you replace your HU?
