How about the front brakes, or has that been discussed that the front pistons are smaller? Aren't there 2 POT calipers that are non-brembo for the 350Z?

The 2005+ 350z have two pot front calipers and use our rotor size. But I dont know the specs on the calipers.

Man and i just bought 2004 cross driled slotted rear 350z rotors with SS lines for the max. Should have waited and found this out.Im using 2003 350z rear rotors, this is correct right? Now just need to find out about the front. Would love some 2 pot 350z calipers up front.

Yes, the 03 rotors for the G35/350Z are correct. Now you need calipers for same car.

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ $$$$$$$$$$$$$

it would be cheaper to trade the max in then spend money on those brakes.

But damn it would be nice.

Well I have 2003 350z calipers and 2004 cross drilled rotors with SS lines on the way for the back. What color would you paint the caliper and hub? I have a dark grey max with chrome 20". Gloss black? Wish I knew to get the 2005 rotors but alteast Im getting the bigger piston area with better loooking rotors and SS lines. So whats the deal with the fronts?

You need to upgrade the front to the 2005+, 350z caliper. Otherwise your braking bias will be all screwey.

Deuski has upgraded fronts already.

I have 300ZX tt 4 piston front calipers.

Whats the cost of them, dont you need brackets how much better for price per performance over the 350z calipers. Im on a budget and am doing just a slight upgrade. I want the cross drilled rotors just for the nice look.

You can get an 2005+ plus 350z front and rear brakes for added breaking performance.

You can use your stock maxima front rotors, but you will need new 350z rear rotors and all 4 calipers to keep the system balanced.

Nope the rotors seemed to big. I could get the caliper to line up but as I tightened it the rotor would no longer move.

Resurecting an old thread....

So if I upgrade my rear calipers to lets say an 03 350z non-Brembo caliper/rotor setup I may over bias my braking to the rear if I don't upgrade my front calipers as well? What is the low cost bolt on suggested front calipers I should be looking for?

I'm in the middle of planning for new rotors and such and thought it would be the time to do all of this at once.

You"ll benefit more from the front upgrade but if you do decide to do the rear you dont have to worry about the bias. I asked this question when I did mine. Several people have done both both the front and rear.

I see everybody is talking about 03s, anybody know if you can use 06 350Z Rear calipers????

Are the rear rotors bigger on 06? Can I use previous year rotors with 06 calipers?

Thanks

I didnt see a 2006 fsm to download but on the 2005 it looks possible. The rear rotors are the same size 11.5". From other reading it didnt give a size but said 2006 had a rotor increase. From more reading the 2006 rear went to a 12.1 size rotor and would be a bolt on.

IIRC the 03 350Z was just the rear calipers, still a single caliper piston but the piston is larger then the Maxima, 06 350Z front and rear rotor size increased but increasing the rotor size I think you need brackets cause your moving the stock location of the caliper.

Im researching brakes as well but I want to go with the Willwoods BBK use nissanhelp.com to see rotor size, 350Z is a good candidate but I read somewhere on here that the 06 & 07 Murano and 05 -07 Quest fronts are 2 piston and bolt on, I think

so the 350z's brakes can be placed inside of a 04-08 maxima?
does this mean i can just take it to a shop for a brake change and ask them to place inside 350z brakes instead of the oem maxima brakes?

I hate to revive this old thread, but I have exhausted my search both on here, and on google, so here we go.

We all know that the FRONT brakes for any 6th gen will work on a 5.5 or a 5th gen with the bracket (torque member) from the 6th gen.

My question is, does the same apply for the rears? As in, can you do this same rear BBK mod from the 350Z Rear Caliper/Bracket/Rotor on a 5th gen or a 5.5 gen.

Thanks

the first thing i notice is the parking brake on the 6th gen is on the inside of the rotor. the 5th gen is not like that so i'd say it probably won't just "bolt on"
