Technosquare ecu ?'s...

well i was just reading around the org and was tryin' to learn up on this process..... I have read their site etc... but had a few ?'s...

1. Has anyone had ANY problems since they have sent this ecu out and then installed it???

2. Can you feel a nice gain in power... Dyno anyone???

3. On their website it says that the "stealership" cant tell if any work has been done to the ecu... does anyone know if this is true...??? have you taken it to a dealership since then???

I live in So cal and im about 20 mins from their shop so i really think im going to get this mod... If they were on the east coast i wold have said no because i cant go 5 days w/out my car... I need it for work/school/racing hahah. But since its so close to me I said HELL WHY NOT!

Speaking rom a 5.5gen owner.

TS = cookie butter. Any AFC is good to have, but TS seems to shoot for a flat 13.0 AFR.

Also, semi but TS overnights the ECU back to you regardless of where you are (lower 48 I imagine)

Unless the dealership takes the ECU out, they wont know. (TS slaps a sticker on it, it = ECU)

More can be done for less,(i.e. EMU/UTEC) but if you're lazy, it's just fine.

I think I have the most expensive software out there. TS F-spec, wb02, SAFCII.

1.) no problems
2.) I dynoed at 223hp/243tq with fujita and TS (and the guy let off at like 6300rpm because he was tard, so I'm sure I could have easily had close to 230whp if not more and the tq is a little high, but in the correct area)
3.) in a way they won't tell, but THEY have to install the ecu and re-program the keys...oh wait, are you sending in your ECU? if so then you don't have to go to the dealership unless you are buying a spare ecu like I did
4.) You could get all the mods you are going to get and then dyno and send the dyno sheet with your ecu to TS so that they can "fine-tune" it, otherwise do the TS and then get a AFC like Manny said for finer tuning
5.) and yes, TS does dyno tuning in house (I remember reading how people got their cars back from them dyno-tuned)

I too have the TS flash and did notice a difference I gained 12hp TQ is another thing but I think that has to do with my exhaust not sure. I was the first 06 max to get the TS flash so they are still tweaking my program. also my dealership put the ECU in but that was a spare that I got from a junk yard. They told me that if I had flashed the stock ECU it would have voided the warranty on it. I also plan on doing an SAFC 2. I have to send mine back out this week for a third tune.

Heres the dyno from the first tune I go for the second dyno this week.

Have you thought of getting a baseline dyno?

I believe it's about 500 bucks, in case you guys haven't heard uprev is making a package called osiris that is a home based flash system packed with cipher. Just plug it in and WHAM, a flashed ECU. No muss, no fuss.

If you're asking me that. I did one and sent it to TS to program my spare ECU. I'm still learning the tuning part but it's frustrating.

You should just drive down and have them tune it, since you have this option; but hold off if you're waiting for headers/y-pipe.

$700(?) for Uprev. You, as is PrjctMax you, probably don't need it unless you want to add more mods and tune it yourself. If they are mapped for 350Z only, you will have to tune down a little or you'll be in protection mode.

I'd recommend you think about what your future looks like in regard to additional modifications. Any piggyback ECU is going to give you better tuning capabilities down the line versus an ECU reflash like TS. If you think you're going to add ANY additional performance modifications later down the line, I'd get the TS L-Spec reflash, which doesn't alter your a/f mappings but does:

1. Raise the rev limiter to 7100 from 6600
2. Opens the TBV all the way when you go WOT
3. Removes any speed limiter

If you spend the extra monies to go with the full TS reflash that alters the a/f/it ratios and then later go with a piggyback ECU ala S-AFCII, UTec, EU, etc., then you're being redundant.

Explain as to why. You have a very similar ECU, so, why wouldn't it work?

You can use it to tune Maximas just the same, but I think he meant when will UpRev have preprogrammed maps for Maximas like they do for the 350Z's.

I was the test car for the 6sp manual and I felt a big difference, especially down low. SInce I have added mods and will add more mods, like headers, cams, and flywheel, I want a piggy back system. I am considering the UTEC.

I see makes sense. I thought you meant that it is not compatible at all.
I am considering the UTEC.
That's what i would do.

I havent ran it at the track yet with the current mods... I missed dyno day here in georgia so i dont have a current dyno I hoping for somewhere around 240-250whp. My cousin put down 245/245 with the same exact mods i have and he has the same car!

I liked the way my Maxima pulled out of the turns on the track. Much better than without reflash.

I often wonder how my max would be with mods that I have if I had gotten a six speed instead especially with the TS re-flash

I think the 6 speed takes better advantage of the extra power as it would in any car.

Osiris

Just thought you should know. Seems like a cool idea, but not for us yet.

Thank you for your interest in UpRev. Osiris is used to load generic tunes that we develop by tuning local customers. At this point, we have not had a local Maxima that we have performed a custom tune. Until we have developed a good sampling of generic tunes for the Maxima community, we will not be able to support generic tunes for Maxima.

Later,
