Loudest Intake

Hey guys,

I'm fairly new here. I recently got a Nissan Maxima. I've been working some landscaping this summer and I'm thinking about doing some mods. I have an 07 Silver Maxima SE. I'm thinking about starting with an intake, and I've been trying to find as much information as I can.

I've been looking at the Fujita intakes, and reading up on them a little bit. I've also had a couple friends tell me to look at some Stillen intakes cause I guess Stillen is a great tuner for Nissan. Anyways, I've been trying to find as many sound clips/video clips of different intakes so I can decide which sound I like the best, and whether I want more power in the low end, or higher in the band. I kinda like the the Fujita sounds, but what is the loudest intake made for the 07? I've also heard of Berk and Weapon R...
I tired to do a search and mainly came up with intakes for the 4th and 5th generation cars.

+1 ... and I drive an 04, so someone asked me.

just remove all the intake tubing all together, and then remove the y-pipe from the car, and you'll be all set. it'll be loud. you'll be all set for the race track, right alongside some civic with a 40 foot tall airplane spoiler.

and I guess to answer the question.. I think the Fujita will deafen someone if you go by at 6500rpm's right next to them.. have fun getting noise ordinance citations though.

I concur, especially if you pass them at 6500rpms under an overpass. Then, it echoes.

I haven't tried any other intake, but I do have the Fujita, and love it.

Ok, I never said that I was doing the modification just so I can have a louder sounding car.

The outside of my car is stock, except I've taken a few of the badges off of it and the dealer sticker. It has the 07 spoiler because I have the SE package.
I'm doing this modification so free up some hp and to get the car breathing a little bit better. Exhaust will probably come next.

The landscaping company must pay you really good for you to drive a 07 maxima se at the age of 17

I never said that I bought the car. My parents bought the car for me. It's not that big of a deal how old I am and what type of a car I drive.
The point of my thread was to find out some more information on intakes. If you're not going to be of any help, don't bother posting. I don't need any smart-a$$ remarks about how I'm spoiled and I've had everything handed to me in life. It's really no-one elses business but my own.

FastMax05,

I dynoed and did well. Humidity was 28% temp was 71 degrees. I pulled 218.2whp and 232.9 tq.
I have an intake for performance and that's about it. The rest are costmetic.

That's all I have. I'm not knowing of these 'runfiles', as I am new to this dyno scene. But, there's my proof of numbers.

Over my head! I dyno-ed and produced dyno graph. Once you get into too many specifications, you eliminate us common fellows.

That's what I have....well that and ADHD

Can someone interpret that Dyno for me? It doesnt say which runs are pre-and post intake.

It looks like you gain low end at the expense of top end.

all of those are with the fujita. you're probably noticing the difference between the torque curve and the horsepower curve.. torque is high in the lower RPM's and drops off a bit when it reaches the high RPM's.. power increases most of the range and levels off at the top..

the difference before and after the Fujita though, is a bit less power in the low end (under 3500) and more at the top (over 4000) .. it also smooths out the curve a bit, giving you a longer power band, if I remember right.

Try the injen. I have had it on two of my maximas and it screamed. Very easy to put on and You notice a huge difference at higher RPM!

Injen is a good design on the A34, but on the A32 and A33, it's a poor design. FYI.

Why is it considered a good design on the new models, but not on the older models? What's changed since then?

Right now, I'm heavily leaning towards getting the Fujita. I love the sound of it, at least the clips of it that I've heard on the internet...
