So my SES light comes on while I'm on I-95 South, on my way home to NC from NYC. I did fill the tank(a little more than when the gas pump automatically shuts off) all the way. The book states that after a few short trips the SES light will go away. Well, I just want to share my story since it can happen to anyone. I was worried, I thought a few trips meant a couple of trips. I do not like to see my car with any warning lights. My light came on during the morning of July 20, 2007 and went away the evening of July 25, 2007. So after 5 days, my SES light came off. The code I received was a 0442, I guess my gas cap was not closed properly at some point. Do not get frustrated if your SES light comes on(steady), give it some time and maybe it will go away. If your SES light is blinking, obviously, you have a bigger problem.
