Power Folding/Tilt down mirrors

I have the power folding mirrors, with reverse tilt down. Nice...however, I started to notice that from time to time, when I put the car in reverse, the designated mirror tilts down and then snaps back, making a nasty, cracking sound...and it keeps doing it until I disengage reverse - kind of like a broken cd that keeps repeating the same tune over and over.
Is there any quick fix for it, or should I contact my dealer?...Thing is, I cannot always replicate it.

Thanks in advance.

OR.... you can take the mirror assembly apart and un plug it then plug it back it... that might reset it...

GOOD LUCK!

yeah, is there any way to set it up so they automatically fold in when you put it into park? and then fold out when you put it into drive or reverse?

WELL since we are talking about mirrors and stuff... I really really need somebody to find or invent led blinking side mirrors for our cars... I mean the Maxes are gorgeous, fast, stylish, and unique.... every other gorgeous fast, stylish, and unique car I know has led blinking side mirrors or at the least the option for it.... Dont you think?

Maybe an alarm shop can hook that up. I know with some alarms they can make all windows roll up and down. Maybe they can make the mirrors fold in and out too.

Actually, I discovered the same thing happening to my brand new 07 Max. I figured out if you adjust that particular mirror just a small degree it will stop the repeated clicking. Strange but seems to work!

Other gens have gotten blinking side mirrors done, I'm sure you can do it too. See here for more info:

http://forums.maxima.org/showthread....ower%20folding

Sycefiro and TJ_Max are two sponsors who have sold them in the past, so check with them.

I think this would be possible with a relay added to a remote start or any similar alarm setup. Matter of fact i don't think, I know

This happens because the mirror, might have been moved with out the motor... like for example, someone might have accidentally pushed it. I noticed this also, I just re-adjusted it while in park, and that usually cures it.

Yep, extra modules can be added to

roll 2 windows up
roll 4 windows up
close mirrors

combination of above or all.

indeed, when f-ckers at the car wash wipe your mirrors they always have to press the mirrors in and then you have to reset it and save it again.

My rule:

You wipe mirrors without moving them, TIP
You wipe mirrors and push them out of place, THANK YOU BUT NO TIP.

I had this same issue in when I put it in reverse it would go down and then when I put it in drive the mirror would either stay down, or come up and then point in and just keep clicking like it was still trying to go in. Not the whole unit itself just the mirror. I took it up to the dealership, Oneil Nissan, and they changed a one piece after another. I think in all they changed like 3 or 4 pieces and the problem was still occuring. So they changed the whole unit. The shop manager there is a family friend so he kept me in the loop about everything. Apparently, there was something in the housing of the mirror which was reading as it had power when in reality it was not working. They decided to just put a whole new mirror on because the parts that they had put into the old mirror was almost the cost of a new one, and they didnt want something else to go wrong. If I am not mistaken I believe the mirror assembly cost like $350. Anyway, I didnt have to pay for it, it was covered under warrenty and they gave me a rental for the 2 weeks they had my car.
