Broken Fujita Intake

Before anyone jumps to conclusions about this product, I'll be the first to say I LOVE THIS THING. I think I'm also the first person (or at least one of VERY few) to break one of these. I'm not sure how it happened; I don't get on my car very often at all...and I have yet to go to the track with it on (I'm waiting for cold weather).

I discovered that my Fujita CAI busted at the mounting bracket in places. One is obvious...left a nice lil hole, which I'm sure is throwing my readings off a bit, and one where the arm meets the main piece. Here's a pic I took with my phone (so excuse the quality)

Again...I reiterate...don't let this sway you from adding this CAI. Like I said, I don't think I've ever heard of it breaking.

DRod, please attach that picture and email it to info@f5air.com. This is covered under warranty. Let them know that you purchased it from RideTuner. If you need my assistance with the warranty process please let me know. I'll be more than happy to help in any way I can.

I PM'd RT, and he replied within minutes (as you can tell by his post above). I've already contacted Fujita, so I guess we'll see what happens from here. The chunk missing is still attached at the weld.

That is exactly why I custom manufactured a support bracket underneath my Fujita because Injens had the same problem minus the hole...

Chern can you describe this bracket a little more. maybe some technical drawing will help. I need this. My original brakcet broke twice already and I just kind of bolted it to the side. I am interested in details if you can.

Well, since I bought my Fujita from RideTuner, I talked to him about it. He replaced the pipe (through Fujita) under warranty. I plan to secure it a little better this time around. But I had a new pipe quickly.

Yeah I saw that Chern originally had an Injen like I got and it broke but on his Cardomain page he goes into great detail on how he modified the Fujita mounting. VERY good stuffs. I haven't had any problems at the mounting so far with my Injen but the dang hose sections are a bit too small and seems no matter how much I tighten the hose clamps they keep slipping off the piping. I may have to hit the shop and get longer hose section. Chern I do love those clamps by the way. Look tough as hell.

Chern, I was looking thru your cardomain page and I love the work you have done. I also honor and recognise your military service since I am planning on going into the Air Force after I graduate college. Anyways the ONLY thing on your car that I saw that was.......sub par was your RADAR DETECTOR MAN!!!! Get rid of that cobra and get yourself an ESCORT 8500/9500. I don't know of you have ever tried one but they are amazing.

Im not sure what Fujita does but the same thing happened with me with my Injen intake. It tore apart at the same part. All I have to do is send my old part out and they will send the new one. Even better they will pay for shipping .

LOL, I only speed on the track so sub par radar detectors work well for my needs...

Chern,

Listen, if your idea of "track" is a 4 lane road with dotted lines and other cars, you might want to heed Sicks advice!

Not required, I actually do control my speed and as a minimum, I will follow with the flow of traffic but I always let them go first...

I chose to boycott all state funding and not speed, 5-7 miles over is the Max speed posted for me, especially with my new car plans...

I find that those cobra radar detectors make really good doorstops and paperweights.

Whatever...

I have no speeding tickets so that says a lot more, just because a person has a fast car doesn't mean he needs a false sense of security to drive like an idiot!!!
