Light Out !!! =(

ahhh yes....... so within about a weeks time frame all but one bulb on the max decided to crap out...... driver side low beam and fog.... passenger side fog. I checked all fuses that apply and all are intact.... so dunn dunn dunnnnnnnnnnnnnn i have to change the bulbs..... i have been reading up on how to change the bulbs.... and all direct me to remove the front bumper... is there a possible easier way to do this?? I did read about removing the wheel well and going from there.... has anyone done this???

Also....... the max i have has halogen not HID and the bulbs are "HIR 9012"

Does anyone know a good site to get these at a decent price?? dealer quoted me 79.99 a bulb!!!

Also any recommendations on good H3 bulbs and where to get them??

Any information would be greatly appreciated!!!

**** the dealership and their prices. Just go to walmart and get some halogen silverstars. Yea, the bumper has to come off but its not a huge deal. There are write ups on the site to guide you.

Good luck.

h3 are cheapys. They are the old fog light one with the wires right? Ive got a brand new set of fog lights with h3 55 watt and a set of replacement 100watt sitting in my garage. Could it be a ground problem that made everything go out?

STOP SAYING THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!! IF U NEVER DONE IT, DONT SAY IT!!!!!

See the piece with the arrow, all you have to do is move the cap in the direction of the arrow. Its a little tight but it can be done. Ignore the wires coming out of it, I have HID kit installed in there.

On the passenger side you have to remove the wind shield washer snorkle to get to the the bulb cap.

FOG BULBS ARE H3.
REG BULBS ARE the HIR 9012 BULBS cheap on ebay........ EBAY

I've never replaced a headlight (fogs and blinkers yes) Not sure how easy this is without taking off the bumper. But I'm not saying ANYTHING because I've never done it....

Update!!!

so i changed out the headlights without having to take off the front bumper...

for all of those who were/will be in my spot here is an alternative instead of having to go through that hastle

driver's side: remove airduct that connect to your airfilter box.... then remove air/filter box and intake tube.... takes about 5 mins.... if that.
from there you have plenty of space to access both the headlight and the fog light.

Passenger side: Remove the windsheild wiper snorkle and the coolant resevior.... this also take about 5 mins if that.... and it gives you enough room to access the head light and fog light.... the space is a bit more tight to work in but its still enough to get the job done.

Now if you are doing major headlight work then by all means take off your entire front bumper.... but if your looking for a quick fix these might be a better alternative....

None the less, happy maxxin!!!!!!!!!!!

I provided detailed description of installing headlights WITHOUT removing bumper. Like what was said, it is tight but it can be done, because I have done it, several times.

you do realize that most dealerships depending on their size probably need to make a profit of 50k a day to break even
