Hood Latch ?

What's up guys

I thought I read a post recently stating how to fix your hood when it wont latch. It will close but not latch properly. Has anyone else had this problem? If so, how did you fix it? I know I saw that post on here and I can't seem to find it.

slam that ***** down HARD! works most of the time

I personally don't have this problem, but it works on most cars that I have to do it on at work.

If it still doesn't then try bending the actual "lathing" part in the direction that it's supposed to latch. Not sure if that makes sense, but ya

Did you try bending it?

This may sound dumb, but get down to the latch at eye level and watch the hood going down and see what's going on.

I got the answer. The hood was going down perfectly but the arm that locks it was stuck in the open position. So I had to hit the lock arm (Im sure there's a more professional term for it..its the arm on the right side of the latch) with some WD40 and push it into the closed position. It works fine after that but I will keep a small bottle of WD40 and screwdriver with me incase it happens again

LOL...your right Chern

The bad thing is, I was going to take it to the dealer tomorrow and I'm sure they would have done the same thing except they would have charged me 300 bones (240 for labor and 60 for parts)

Nah, they're banned from this place.

But I do have to ask, "wet p" reminds Chern of fish oils?

You are a little warped aren't you?

Why are they banned? Did you bad them because you know what goes on here?

EXACTLY!!! I'm going to have to ban them from 6thgen also pretty soon. That word thread is getting a little too raunchy for the monkeys.
