For those looking for an AFC w/harness

+ is the outcome

*thing*=holds the glove-box

As some of you have read, I recently purchased an E-Manage with an auto-sport-wiring harness already spliced into it.

Today I figured I may do a test fitment and placement of everything.

At first I thought the harness wouldn't even hook up to the OE harness because the OE was too short and the ASW harness was too extended to reach, but after some maneuvering, I got both of them to clip in w/o a problem.

Now the real PITA, and most time consuming part was positioning the harness so that I could put the glove-box and the *thing* back in. Sadly, I had to HACK a small portion of the bottom part off, but it sure as hell is not noticeable from outside or inside, unless you look under.

Now, the *thing* went in after some pushing and shoving of the harness under it, but the glove-box was a c**t and didn't want to line up! And I just kept on looking where the hell I can make some more room for the harness, but movement was impossible, due to the tight fit of the OE harness onto the ASW harness.

After BSing for a little bit and foruming, my dad came out and just checked things out and I told him what was up and I'm sure I'd get it soon, since I was getting closer and closer on each attempt.

So my dad looks at it and notices a bracket that can be bent upwards and that would make a little more room for the harness to squeeze into...well that "little more" was PERFECT! The thing tucked in very nicely and everything lined up.

That NIKE looking thing is the bent bracket

Now I just wanted a place to put the actual E-Manage itself, so I thought about hiding it behind the stereo...lol...and then I thought, "the glove-box! So I fished some of the wiring by the cabin filter and in it went!

Oh ya and before this, I started it twice and it ran like s!@# both times...maybe because the guy I bought it from was tuned for a TT set-up! But it ran none-the-less!

Some little things to make stuff easier: disconnect the glove-box from the *thing* by the two little screws holding the big tampon looking contraption on the back of the *thing* and when putting the *thing* back on, make sure that the little nipple thing on the bottom center is popped in first and then that will make lining up all the screw holes perfect!

Now I plan on getting all of my mods, installing them and then dyno-tuning the bunch...although I'm not exactly sure how to do that since I am still going to have cats and the tail-sniffing AFR won't be accurate ...but wait! I may get a program that will allow ME to tune off of my laptop and tell me what my AFR is!

So ya, this was pretty much my Friday after-noon/evening!

hope ya'll enjoyed!

It's an AFC (air fuel controller)

Usually, the more mods you get, the more likely you are to need a tune...and this will do it.

on a side note, did you get my PM on this org or the other org?
