Infinity Basslink 6th Gen
Anyone have one of these installed in a 6th gen? I have one from one of my wife's old cars. I need more bass in the max but i can't bring myself to spending a grand on box/sub/amp/install. I'm not a 17 year old kid anymore so i'm not wanting to blow the windows out but am worried that the little basslink just won't have enough bump to satisfy me.

I bought one for my 95 maxima several years ago, it was pretty nice, however it just wasnt enough bass for me so I got rid of it. It does give a really decent amount of bass, its not as weak as it may look. If you are just looking to add some more bass to give your music more of a fuller sound, its not a bad sub. But obviously it cannot compare to a 12" sub with a big amp for example. I have a 12" kicker solobaric square sub with a 700 watt Kicker amp and it thumps pretty good in my 04 max.

Argh.. i just don't know what to do. If i do the basslink route i don't have to do much, run some wire and bam its running. I'd prefer to get one of the custom boxes that dude sells on ebay, but then i gotta find room to move my carpc and XM tuner box to. Plus i'd have to buy a new amp as i already have a 12" Rockford sub from my last max.
Ugh.. choices choices.
Thanks for the input though, appreciate it.

I found the stock system really lacking in bass too, I added my ported box with 2 12 kicker VR's and rockford amp that i had from my old max. Sounds way better! My amp pushes about 4-500 wats per spec sheet and it has good bass without being overpowering... the rear deck does ratle some but I am pretty sure with a lil tweaking i can get that to go away. If you already have a sub(s) I would just install that. I used the pac unit which ties into factory harness and works great but u do have to take a lot of the dash apart, many have taped into wires on the rear deck and had good results. Decent bass shouldnt cost to much more than the basslink just depends how much bass u want and how much trunk you want to give up. See who has systems installed your area or go to a meet and c what you like/what others using.

May sound silly but if you put your back seat down while you have your radio on you will fill the cabin up with more bass rather then just having it blow around in the trunk. What type of bass are you looking for? Do you want your bass to boom or thump? This is the question i ask all my customers that are looking to *** bass or more bass to their cars.

you don't necessarily have to spend 1000 bucks to get good bass. an efficient and loud 8" driver like the soundsplinter rl-i can dish out plenty of lows without sacrificing too much trunk space. iirc they only require between .3-.5 cu ft of airspace, which is a tiny enclosure. then a solid amp that can do 200-300 watts and you're set. you'll be way below the 1000 dollar mark.
