The Mods Vs. Warranties thread

So guys, I know I have talked to a few of you about these different issues. We all know that most Nissan dealerships gives us a lot of crap for modifying our cars when it comes to warranty repairs. Id like to hear stories whether positive or negative of situations where you needed a repair done on a part of the car which had a modification done to it. For example, anyone got their struts or suspension parts replaced under warranty after adding aftermarket springs to lower the car? Anyone get any engine work done after adding a Cold Air intake or a short ram intake? Etc. Etc. Etc.... I have a Nissan Gold Preferred Extended Warranty and want to add a short ram intake, new springs, and few other things but I dont want to have warranty issues.

I once had my coolant changed on my car at the dealership, and they didn't say a word.

When I had them advance my timing, they did mention that I had an SES light (primary O2 sensors disconnected ), and stated that they couldn't do the advance because of the light. I leftt and came another day, but instead, asked to speak to the tech this time, and left with my timing advanced.

How much did you have your timing advanced? Benefits?

My dealer has been really cool about my upgrades. I haven't had much warranty service done either, except for a few service bulletins/recalls that had nothing to do with any of my upgrades. I'll be out of warranty soon anyways. Got my '04 in April of 2003, right when they came out.

I had them advance the base timing 2*(BTDC). Mine felt a little cripser from idle and sounded a little different @ WOT. Keep in mind, I have a stock airbox.

Here's a little more information on it:

I had the SES light come on for me 04 max. I had a short ram aka pop charger and they fixed the problem with no questions asked. It was my EGR that threw the code. They replaced it with no issues. They see me car a lot and i have a lot of purrty stuff under the hood.
