Front bumper from BodyKits

Does anybody have this?

I wanted the RLM bumper but seems you can't get them anymore. The ones from bodykits are supposed to be the same, but it's hard to go by this pic because it looks like a photoshop.

So, anybody have any real pics of this bumper?

Storytime!!! The bumper you see in that pic is the original photoshop that Luke did for Redlinemax. I worked with RLM to develop that bumper. They worked with bodykits to do the mold etc...since then RLM has gone out of business and www/bodykits.org is continuing to sell the bumper as their own.

And yes Majestic shaved the bottom becuase the bumper simply sits too low, the plan was to redsign the bumper a bit but then RLM went under. I believe he got his mesh from Active Tuning, the guys who make his grill...

Gotcha.

What grill is that that you have on your car?

How hard is it to shave the bottom of the bumper? Something that I could do or has to be done by a body shop?

i've seen that bumper on bodykits.org....
the only downside to it is that its made of fiberglass... wouldve been alot better if it was made from poly.uerathane(cantspell)

**** yeah, u hit a fiberglass bumper on something and its gonna crack for sure. Urethane will just bend, although the paint would probably still crack. mmmm I really want this front bumper, what fogs did u all go with?? I know Jsmith & Chern got the expensive ones, il have to pass on those..

Majestic_MAx05,

Exactly how much did you shave off the bottom of the bumper?

What did you use as a guide...just tape?

I talked to bodykits and they said just use a dremmel w/ a cutting wheel. They said they don't think it'll look right though because of a lip on the bottom of the bumper?

Also, did you finish off the cut edge somehow?

Not bad majestic didnt realize you chopped off the bottom lip, makes for some needed ground clearance.

I had a body shop cut it. It was cut like 1 1/2"

I hadto cut it because after i got it newly painted and installed I chipped it coming out of their shop!! So they cut it! Here in LA i need that and I havent had any problems with it.

Was that an even 1 1/2" all the way around is or does it taper?

Did they charge a lot to cut it?

Really close to ordering.....just gotta figure out if I should cut it or let someone else.

X3, bumper looks hot, tired of scrapping and if I lose an inch it will be perfect. Current clearance is 4" !!!

Actually I may do it myself then use liquid nails to reinforce the back side...
