I like the roof spoiler and would LOVE to do that... Shame they don't come prepainted to match your car.

Your car looks fabulous. I also have a SL and wanted to get a rear spoiler. Did you have to cut/drill the body to fix your spoiler? Where did you get it done from? How much did it cost you -- parts+labor?

I would like to get this spoiler: http://www.slickcar.com/bigshot.asp?ProductID=4886

Hope it will fit in the 07'SL

Actually, I think you may gain access to start new threads after you reach a certain amount of posts in existing threads. Something like that.

15 posts. Why would you get the SL over the SE?? Those tiny 17" wheels and burlwood simulated panels are great for gramps.

Honestly, I would take a SE or SL, I dont prefer one to another..Its just the car they showed me was an SL, and I liked it..ha

all for a 6th gen. age 85+ section say "I"...

Your car is really good lookin bro... I do hear what they are saying though. Did you really look at just the SL version? You must have seen at least a couple SE's at the stealership.

Buy that brand new? Very nice in black. Not sure if I'll get black or blue... My local dealer has had some 07's with high 20k miles for $20k.

LOL c'mon guys I'm not hatin', and I wouldn't take anything from the SL, they are definitely nice rides. I actually drove a friends '07 SL and was pleasantly surprised. Honestly, there aren't a lot of differences but I like to give peeps $hit with SL's is all. If I had one, I'd give guys with the SE's $hit lol.

I like SL's prefer the wood grain trim, and the softer ride, but they didn't come with the 18 inch wheels. It was almost a toss up each has there pluses. I just made sure my SE had leather like the SL.

How much, and what makes it heavier besides the wheels?

Depending on options, base SE is lighter.

Base SE with the cloth seats and with almost no luxury features is not worth buying. Its better to buy a base Altima SE 3.5 V6 and add 18" wheels to it. Thats even lighter than a base Maxima SE and also lower priced.

Fully loaded SE is heavier than fully loaded SL. Base SE is heavier than base SL. Can you please elaborate on how or when SE is lighter than SL?

I dunno but with the stock wheels, SE's are heavier than the SL's. BTW, why is the weight without the wheels important? Do you drive without the wheels?

I think without the wheels the weights will be the same or very very close because fully loaded SE and SL are almost the same except a few minor differences (like wooden trim, etc.) that doesn't make much difference to the weight. The difference in weight is due to the wheels. I had to make this weight a big deal because some people here (like Mack, etc.) are making a big deal out of 1" difference in the wheel diameter. My point is that you guys with SE have gained a 1" in wheel diameter but also gained 12 lbs in weight, so nothing to party about. In Mack's language, I am just giving guys with the SE's $hit because I own a SL lol.

Its time we do away with the misconception that SL's are for old people and SE's for young. It might be interesting to note just as an example that Mack (SE) is 37 and I (SL) am 29, and there are many more such examples. There is absolutely NO correspondence between age of a person and wheel size of his car.

BB you have a great point. I just use age as a harassment tactic LOL. Bottom line is they really aren't very different but we know the SL is the "luxury" model with more comfy ride and woodgrain interior effects, wheras the SE is the "sport" edition with more modern brushed interior and larger tires for looks and handling etc. Both great cars in their own right just boils down to personal pref is all. Personally, my SE is loaded to the max (no pun intended) heated steering wheel, retracting mirrors, heated seats etc but it doesn't ride quite as nice as the SL, but then it wouldn't with my performance oriented setup. I think we can all agree that the Maxima is an awesome car however.

I totally agree with you. Also, whatever I said was in a humorous way, not like

I was in a dilemma whether to purchase the SL or SE. I really liked the bigger wheels of SE. But as far as I can remember, the Vehicle Dynamic Control + full-size spare was not being offered in the 07'SE. That is not the case with 08'SE though. Since I wanted the VDC, I went for SL. Also, I like luxury more than sporty. I am a laidback person

Does any of you with the 07'SE have VDC+full-size spare?

I'm not sure if my rear view mirrors retract. They sure look like they do, but when I tap on them they don't budge. I think they retract, but the previous owner has never done it, so it might be stuck somewhat. Don't want to break it, so I leave it alone. Can someone tell what the retractable 1 looks like, or better yet a picture. (Talking about the manual folding mirrors.)

I do not have VDC, or traction control. Didn't even know about VDC at the time. Actually I assumed traction control was standard. I heard 2005 it was standard. Wish I had both.

Ha, I'm not here to fight or anything..But if you think a m35/m45 is a luxury sedan, then I would say an m5/335i/g35 sedan are sports sedans..The max is like right between, it doesn't really have an identity..ahha

Yeah, blackmax, I'd love to see how it looks on your 07. I have an 07 black SE and considering doing this if I can only figure out how to get it painted/where, etc....
