Solution: Try and find a '05-'06 and try to purchase an extended warranty if you can.
Don't say that, my 06 has 41k on it and it shifts just as smooth as when new, more then afew owners in here have higher mileage 6th gens with no trans issues, I never abuse it, never manually shift it and I got the 30k dealer service for just incase reasons, I don't expect anything trans related to go wrong but if it does, Im really uncertain as to what I would do, I still have my powertrain to 60k but after that I'd probably buy a Charger with a Hemi, would not have to worry about powertrain ever

It also seems like trans issues are effecting all makes across the board,

249 seems kind of high for a tranny flush and fluid exchange
Get your coupon book out, there should be many tranny specialist around your area who will do it for half that price.

i found one store in new jersey that say they do it for $ 159 so maybe i'll give them a check and see and maybe i'll get lucky and have it done under warranty. Like i stated earlier i still want to call around to a few other dealers in my areaand get some more quotes. I'll keep you all posted it's just that i'll be busy for the next week to two. i'm looking at week of nov 12th to check it. Also like someone suggested i'm gathering the tsb's and printing them out to take with me to which ever store i go to so i can show them, even if they are mainly for 04's and mine is an 05 but it was built in sept 04. so i may still have messed up 04 components in my tranny.

I am having the same issues that you are with my 04. I had the trans fluid changed. No difference just mad my wallet lighter. Nissan has driven the car many time and they "can't duplicate the issue" I get the car back and you guessed it....it does it.
My suggestion would be to drive the tech around in the car. They looked at my car and gave me the same BS and said nothing was wrong, so I drove the tech around and about 10 secs into driving it started happening. Try to find a hill, put the car in park, then in drive and try to duplicate your issues. Most of my issues were on 2nd -3rd gear changes going up hill.
