Can you elaborate a bit more? I made them more like a lot of the OEM from other cars out there...let me know, I want to learn!!

Lemme put it to you this way...unless you'd like to shell out $700 for a pair of tails, I could not make such a design, unless I start molding my own acrylic.

now i see the first pic. (had to lighten this temp. montior up) so i take it to be the left one. that would work nicely... though i was partial to horizontal lines

well i the designs on the front were bacically wuh jsmith was goin for. if you wanted a close up jay basically did that for us with his template. mine was very general. jay's is soo much better. he has more detail and graphic in his. i would still think B is very possible...its very simliar to the m35/45x styles. dual round LEDs with separate reverse light...only difference it that the M has a orange turning signal integrated as well buh hand down to Jay. madd props on that...would take that over mine any day.

 

MisterSparkle I wasn't trying to compete!! lol. I guess when I was thinking about the design I just went for the dream tail. This is what a manufacturer would be able to make us, but Metal I've seen what you do with the superflux LEDs and PCB (I've been stalking your threads and reading up!!) I might want you to do some work for me for the interior soon...

Oh and here's a new mock up based on your guys feedback...

And move the other "rounds" somewhere else or tuck the reverse light so they are all in a row? The direction of the brake/blinker are good and to reverse them to fit the reverse light I think will look weird. I'm open to try anything, just give me more details...

jsmithsole, thanks for the compliment.

Two things:

(1) The designs you have made, while top-notch, would not be able to be retrofitted into an OEM housing...so people will need to buy an entirley new set of tails. However, if they were available, they would be beautiful.

(2) The design I am working on can be retroe'd into a set of OEM tails, so all one would pay for is the labor and the materials.

 

Alright, seeing as how the interest is through the roof at present, I will start work on the LED layout and try to have pics up next weekend of a physical model and take it from there.

IF ANYONE HAS ANY SUGGESTIONS, IT MUST EMPLOY THE OEM LAYOUT AND OEM REVERSE LIGHT REMAIN INTACT.

 

Awsome, I basically just wanted LED tails but just like the stock ones.

 

The left tail is probably going to be the prevailing design...

 

Oh, s'hit! I could probably make a nice set of bars at the bottom end of the tail for the turn signal!!!!

Yes so we are talking about 2 differetn set ups here. The photo shop I did was assuming that a company would (with the demand built up here) produce a completely set of new tail lights for us. Not likely...

Now Metal Maxima will be making led boards that will fit into the stock housings with some retrofitting and labor, as he stated above. If you search out threads started by Metal, you'll see that HE is the LED *****!! He's got this **** on lock as far as doing custom work. (and I have a few ideas for him actually!!)

Just wanted to clarify the 2 scenarios....

We can still find out if a company is willing to make Letter B taillights.

I think the original left design is best. Not sure what the bar under the circles is supposed to look like.

 

to much toooo crouded IMO, just keep it simple good looking and functional

 

I don't think it would be to bad, they would probably only light up when the turn signal is flashing I'll bet

 

Yea, i say put the turn signal within the big circle, ind of like the Range Rover.

Um, no. The circles will be the running lights, turn signal will be two bars at the bottom of the housing.

 

Or make both circles into running and brake...
(ans nice chop MAX2DAMAX!!!)
